    Default Digital Tire pressure gauge

Lost my pressure gauge. I like the gauge that came with the RT. Looking for a replacement. Any one have a idea where I may find one. If BRP had it I would probably have to buy the total tool kit. Left it on seat and took a test ride. Bob

There are many on the market but accurate ones cost $$$. I use this it has a bleed off so when I do the fronts I over fill a bit and tap the bleeder to get exactly the same on both sides.

BRP took them out of the tool kits several years ago. Have you asked your dealer to see if he can find one for you?

They really were crappy and inaccurate anyway. Having worked in a GM wheel mounting area accurate electronics are very expensive not from the lowest bidder. I have one and tested both the BRP and Joe's above against it. BRP was 1-2lbs off and Joes was dead on.I use my expensive digital as a standard. The angle on the Joe's also makes doing the rear tire easy as well as the length of the hose.

I have to disagree with you on this point, the air pressure in your front tires especially need to be checked often for a good ride and proper tire wear.

Mine is similar but has a nipple for filling on it without removing the schrader valve and disconnecting. Some one on here posted it a year or two ago.

    I love it!

Size matters and so does the air in your tires! You can take that to the bank. Listen to "Uncle Joe".

This is what I use: EZ-AIR Tire Gauge by G. H. Meiser $19.95 on Amazon.

This allows the digital tire gauge to be connected while you put air in the tire. It has an air chuck connected to it. Best I have ever used including easy hookup to the rear valve stem.

    Default valve placement

That rear tire is a real PIA. I can't get a gauge or fill on it without bending it upward. Am I doing something wrong.

Nope, you're not doing anything wrong!!

Checking the pressure on the rear tire just IS a real PIA!!

Notice the word "SO" in my post. The point I was trying to make is this: Sometimes it seems that some of the old timers on this site make the Spyder to be the most maintenance intensive thing on the road. For instance this thread....

While I agree that air pressure in one's tires is important, a half pound here or there ain't gonna make a hill of beans worth of difference in the handling or the longevity of the tire. (I seriously doubt if all but a very small minority of the folks on this forum ride their Spyder to the full the extent where the EXACT SAME pressure in the front tires is going to matter at all) Check it as often as you like, doesn't really matter to me.

There was also a recent post about valve clearances with some folks sermonizing about how important it is for the clearances to be checked at each service. Just because the book says so? The books are basically written to protect the manufacturer. (ie. the safety placard) True valve clearanc is important, but IMHO, unless you are deaf you'll hear some valve clatter before any permanent damage is done. Granted, this time you had better get it fixed. Once again, how many of us are running our spuders to the fullest extent ppossible?

    Amen.
