Default Hi.... feedback on the Glo Ryders

Am thinking about going there. They seem pretty expensive. Worthwhile? Do they last without hassles? : )

    Default Glo Ryders

Installed mine last weekend. Easy install. Looks great, I think.

Good safety factor for night ridding. Be seen.

I had them on my 2013 RT. Not going to bother on the F3. They eat batteries, they corrode as they get water inside and replacing the batteries is a PIA. They need to be completely redesigned to be sealed and generate their own power from the rotation of the wheel. They also need to be properly coated so as not to corrode themselves and the wheel hub.

The newer version with the remote and multicolor LEDs are also not near a bright as the previous single color units and they do not turn on/off automatically. Were a step backward in my mind.

Money wasted for me. They went with the bike when I traded it in. The new owner took them off and tossed them.

The previous owner installed them. I wouldn't waste the money on them. Buy something useful like a trailer hitch or heated clothing.

You are correct on all accounts. I pulled the boards, and just use the casing.

I had earlier versions on mine up through the 2011. Not a lot of riding in the dark here, Sept/Oct only. A set of batteries would last me the whole season.

Heard the new versions ate batteries--so never gave them a try. I sold both sets to a lucky SL member.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.
