I've thought about those. Any issues grabbing the clutch? How easily can you get your hand on/off the bars? Any recommendations on a specific brand? Thanks!
I have heated gloves and jacket liner, but those weren't enough several years ago, so I bought Hippo-Hands. Attached them to the handlebars, inserted my hands into them and went for a ride.
I was kind of mentally dense that day, so when I noticed my gas consumption was really poor, I stopped and checked for gasoline leaks and found no problem. Then on my way home from the North Georgia Mountains I engaged the cruise control, which had stopped working. Finally realized the Hippo-Hands were being pushed into the brake and clutch levers, and took them off after a single use.
Since most of us don't have brake or clutch levers, Hippo-Hands might be an option. I think I might try mine one more time this winter.
It's more likely the wind chill that's getting you. Get some brush guards, I have the attachment parts from two cheap cycle gear brush guard kits and some Can Am Quad brush guards. Another possibility would be the Yamaha brush guards they use on the new FJ 9 or the Tenere
My Missus will often complain about her hands getting cold...
Has anybody figured out what sort of "Brush Guards", mount up to the passenger grab rails the easiest?

I've tried these on several occasions.....on my own and riding as a passenger in my gloves and boots; they just can't keep my hands warm enough. My husband tells me all of the time that I'm part zombie.

I 've had them almost burn my hands when they were against bare skin.

I'm using the pollyheater snow mobile grip heaters that go inside the bars. I use hi to warm them up and kick them down to lo while ridding. Even then I have to turn them off once in awhile because they get so hot I have to "air out".
I'm quite certain that if I left them on hi the entire time that I could melt the grips off the bike! [emoji38]
There are battery powered heated gloves that work pretty well, and don't need the wiring to the Spyder's electrical system. Carry some extra batteries, just in case.

+1 They work. My winner ridding gloves have a compartment for HotHands warms. They also make body warmers and foot warmers. I put body warmer under my layered cloths. One on my chest, lower back, arms, and legs. My wife does the same. We live in the northeast mountains of GA. and it gets cold in the winter.
