    Encountered a gator on a walkway down in Silver Springs Florida many years back. We gave it plenty of room--even though that was our first gator up close and personal.

    Encountered a herd of Buffalo in Teddy Roosevelt National Park in ND. They had blocked the road and traffic was piling up. A local in a pickup truck drove right up to them and they dispersed. I followed quickly while there was time to get by.

    The Begging Burros in Custer State Park SD, will come right up to your car window looking for a handout. Not much you can do except wait and put up the window.

    It is a good idea to respect wildlife. If they turn on you, it can get nasty real quick.
