I have not owned an RS but the RT and the F3 surely need a mudflap to keep the water from flipping up all over your back, and I agree it seems like we have liquid sunshine almost every day hereabouts...

I saw an RS in southern CA that the owner had modified a trailer fender
cut it down and reshaped it to fit and made a full fender that looked stock
I have been thinking of doing the same thing. He said he got the fender
at a trailer supply store, he had it painted the same color as the Spyder.
That may be my next change to mine this year.

I used an old dog door flap, cut down to fit. The Great Danes we've had over the years tear the top edge in a few years and I have a large piece of dark, flexable plastic to cut for whatever I need. A few small pop rivets in the back fender, a dab of black paint to cover them and it 's all good.
A perfect un-noticable mud/rain flap.

It seems that the water mud that hits the rear top part of Spyder is coming from the
front of fender under rear seat, not the lower portion of fender. I could be wrong
but it seems that way, so a mud flap wont do the trick. We thank you for the input.

Try www. Spyderflap.com one of the site sponsors or Inspector Gadgets at www.spyderrt.info/ for rear mud flaps.

If that's the case possibly fitting a second fender off the top may help.
Now in my case the bottom fender strut's cracked so I removed it and just replaced it with one at the top. On its own it doesn't work any better than the standard one. However I wonder it you used both together (and a mud flap)...
Mine came off a Kawasaki 14

If the water is, in fact, coming from the front tires, I would think that a set of RS SE5 Seal Floorboards would be a great help in blocking road rain. It would be interesting to hear if any RS owners, with Seal's, have had this problem. Not to mention, the great leg and foot room you get with a Seal that is over 30" long. Rain or shine, we all want to.......

I just installed my mud flap from Spyderflap.com. Perfect timing, we're in our monsoon season here in Arizona. Lots of puddles to ride through. for the next couple of weeks.
