Default Labor Day MN Spyderlovers Ride -

We really enjoyed riding with our fellow MN Spyder riders over the weekend overnighters. Our first night's stay was in Willmar, MN and then onto Pipestone, MN for the second night. Great group of folks and a total of 11 Spyders in the group. Many of us went to the Pipestone National Monument . I'll post a few more pics in my albums as well.

The weather was very hot on Saturday and Sunday with high humidity. On Labor Day, the weather was cooler and less humid - great weather for the weekend fun!

Here's some pics - enjoy! Pic 1 - our group by a town where on of the employees of Caswell Cycles is from, Pic 2 - 5 is at the Pipestone National Monument - here's a little info: Pipestone National Monument is located in southwestern Minnesota, just north of the city of Pipestone, Minnesota. It is located along the highways of U.S. Route 75, Minnesota State Highway 23 and Minnesota State Highway 30. The catlinite, or "pipestone", has been traditionally used to make ceremonial pipes, vitally important to traditional Plains Indian religious practices. The quarries are sacred to most of the tribe of North America, Dakota, Lakota, and other tribes of Native Americans, and were neutral territory where all Nations could quarry stone for ceremonial pipes. The Sioux tribes may have taken control of the quarries around 1700, but the Minnesota pipestone has been found inside North American burial mounds dating from long before that, and ancient Indian trails leading to the area suggest pipestone may have been quarried there for many centuries

Did you see the picture of Les and Kathy(who were on the Alaska trip) with Teresa and me....thought you would enjoy that for all who rode together on the "north to Alaska" trip.

Yes we did. Brought back some fond memories. We will remember your visit for years to come.
