Default quick grab storage while sitting on machine

here's the scenario...being PGR...I arrive at a scheduled part of a mission...must quickly dismount the bike, grab a bottle of water, and grab my mission cap and hustle to the support vehicle to grab a flag...

on my FJR, I always had a tank bag big enough for a damp wash cloth to wipe my sweaty face, and my cap. I have no idea where to put my cap on my machine for quick grab and would rather not have to open and close anything like trunk, frunk, side bag.

I have the small pouch that attaches to the glove box door...wondering if there's some storage thingy that goes on the dash that will securely hold my cap folded in half for quick access .

I'm still thinking of the JT bar with a RAM ball for my adaptive radar detector, but I have balls on the bars as well.

    TIA

Artillery lends dignity to what would
    otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

If you adapt that to attach to JT's bar; it would allow for quick removal, when it's not needed...

That is what I have on my 2014 RT, and I love it. I keep a small towel, a small 2" flash light, and my wallet in mine. I am not thrilled about being able to see it when you are not on the bike, but I prefer function over looks sometimes.

I, too, miss the big tank bag on my old BMW.

I'm leaning toward some kind of fanny pack. Maybe one that has a gun holster compartment, so it can do double duty when I'm not riding.

    Default Dash Pack

We have a dash pack that works very well. We used it a lot on the New England trip.

We have that on our RT. They are attached using double sided tape and velcro so that you can take them off. I didn't think the original mounting was secure enough and added some extra tape and velcro. Probably have about 20K miles with them on now.

Are the 3 bags connected together, or can they be installed seperately? I'm in the market for a bit more "quick-grab-small-stuff" storage too

I believe they are connected with a strap, but I can't see why the straps couldn't be cut away to separate the pouches.

Could you take that unit, and mount it to JT's Bar with just a couple of real short bolts through the bottom of the center pouch?
Or don't the dimensions match up?

They are separate, and are connected to the dash with double sided tape and Velcro. They fit really nice, but I may replace the stock stuff with some industrial strength Velcro.

When these first started getting noticed in here, there were some folks reporting trouble with getting the Velcro to stick...
