Moderating an Internet forum is a thankless and time consuming task. I've been a member of forums administered by Lamont for many years dating back to my Goldwing days, and he's always done a superb job. Thank you Lamont, for providing all of us with a valuable, useful, and powerful tool for the dissemination of information about our favorite pastime.
i really shouldn't say anything on this subject, but here it goes because i am someone that was involved in a one sided fight that got me banned for a couple of weeks.
FIRST: take your argument to pvt. messages.
SECOND: we all think different, so why argue and call names, it's a forum so just move on.
THIRD: we are all adults, so lets act that way. i don't think there are 5 year old's on here that run to the teacher to tell them.
FORTH: if you are going to report someone, tell the person that you did. why should a person be suspended or banned without knowing who reported them or why they are being punished.
and lastly, i saw this post from lamont when he first posted it. i consider myself very lucky on here that i have a few friends that wright me a pm if they think one of my posts or something i say in not appropriate, and as soon as i get the pm, even if i think what i posted was ok, i delete the post. so lets all just get along and have a good time laughing and learning.
now like the first time i got booted, every time i sign in i will be waiting to see if i am still a member or not.
...And discussions about oil types, fuel octane, helmets, speed limits, Farkling, tire pressures, hotels, what tools to carry, How to Bluetooth the radio into your headsets, air pressures in your tires, the use of nitrogen, carrying sidearms, legalization of recreational drugs, which tires to actually buy...
FORTH: if you are going to report someone, tell the person that you did. why should a person be suspended or banned without knowing who reported them or why they are being punished.
The reason you're "FORTH" is not going to work is because folks can feel free to report a post without being called out by the offender or anyone else. I'll decide if it was justified or not. This is what I've been doing for 16 years now so I'm pretty fair.

If I may... telling them that they're being reported only offers up another chance for the (alleged) offender to get nastier...
Let the Boss handle it, and it'll work out!
Although a "Shot across the bow", to warn you that you're on thin ice... might be sufficient.
(IMHO)

See Bob........ this whole thread could of been avoided if you stopped bullying me sooner.

I absolutely love this site. It has helped me enjoy my spyder even more. I always read it for advise and comments. We all have different opinions, thoughts and ideas. That is what makes us unique. If I don't like what someone posts I just move along. We should all wear life like a loose jacket. Don;t get bogged down by the small stuff.
I got lost in time I guess. When did courtesy, and mutual respect become political correctness?
You may have just misunderstood my tongue-in-cheek remark. I wasn't talking about courtesy and mutual respect, nor was Jack in his comment I was referring to. We were talking about people who say what they believe others want to hear, rather than what they really believe. You can certainly be courteous and respectful without having to resort to that.
