    Default Choices choices..!!

there are many types depending on where you want to put it and how big you want it....if you run a gps all the time you can set it to compass. Living on the coast we don't use them much .... We all know where the beach is.. in our case west. Check autoparts stores they have many....

Get a GPS. The compass is very accurate.

I've never had good luck with "Add-on" compasses...
It's often difficult to get them to read accurately.

I tried an "add on" compass/thermometer on mt RT & no matter where I mounted it, it always indicated South & the thermometer was 100 degrees or higher. Take it off, walk away, the compass would correctly swing around to the direction I was facing, and the temperature would drop. A waste of time and money.

I also recommend the GPS. A magnetic compass will be off because of the motor.

The better magnetic compasses will often have adjustments to deal with the stuff that throws off their accuracy..
The trouble is; I could never get them to work either!

I wouldn't waste my time with one of those floating in water compasses. You won't be able to read it as it shakes around. Like looking through a snow globe.... GPS is the way to go.

    Hi Drew,
Of course; you can get the "Snow Globe" for about $3.00 in the finest dollar stores...
A cheap GPS is considerably more...
How cheap can you go with them, before usefulness is lost?

$3 in a dollar store? Wouldnt they only be $1?? [emoji38]. My kids klr had one of those cheap stick on compasses and it was useless. Actually it was pretty funny to watch it shake about as your riding. Can't imagine it working much better on the spyder.
Figure if you needed a cheap compass there are a ton of freebie apps for phones too......???[emoji57]

Well, for THAT price; it'd be a high-class dollar store!

You know the type... almost as nice as Wal-Mart!
