Who is BRP's Oil Partner
I've peaked at so many Oil Test Reports that it's getting to be a bit like looking at wallpaper. In one of the post there's a BRP video about why BRP oil is the "best". BTW, it shows XPS in a yellow bottle that is clearly labeled Full Synthetic. They talk about an "Oil Partner". Does anybody know for sure who that partner is that makes the XPS oil for BRP??????? The only big national brands that make a 5W-40 Full SYN are:
Castrol
Shell
A smaller company that makes a 5W-40 is Bel-Ray

XPS full synthetic in the yellow bottle is not 5W-40 it is 0W-40
Blended in the black bottle is 5W-40

Thanks for refreshing my oldtimers memory. The posr I was talking about was on the subjecf "The Final Word On Oil Changes for the 1330", or something to that affect.
Given that Castrol is BRP's oil partner, and if BRP's Full Syn is 0W-40, I wouldn't think that a BRP service department could balk at using the Castrol Full Syn RS 4T 5W-40 oil.????????

XPS oil is made with BRP Specs. BRP invest over 3 M$ per year in R&D in this brand.

Buy some BRP oil off the net and ask if they will install it. If they don't, it's about the profit margin on selling you the Oil pure and simple. It has nothing to do with the oil.

check your manual... Castrol T4 full synthetic 5W40 has a "SL" rating which is approved by BRP... no reason your dealer should balk putting it in your spyder.. my local dealer did the 3000 mile check... I brought my own oil Castrol T4 ... service manager's own words "good choice on oil"

I got an email confirmation of this 0W-40 designation for the XPS Yellow Bottle from XPS Lubricants yesterday. In my way of thinking, this is great oi for snowmobiles, not for motorcycles/trikes that aren't driven in the winter. I've used Full Synthetin Motorcycle oil in all my MCs/trikes.Don't see a reason to change now that I have a Spyder. Will be going to a 10W-40 Full Syn. Motorcycle oil @my first service.
