    Default F3 Heel Toe Shifter

I am not a fan of toe shifting, I think maybe too many years riding Harleys but I love H/T shifting. So I gathered up some parts and this is the result.

The last couple two wheelers I had, both had H/T shifting. I liked it a lot. Could always push down to shift. The lift up thing was painful for me.

Great idea for . Did not find anything good for my 2008 GS SM5.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

This shifter was made from Harley parts I got off eBay. From Drag Specialties, part# 1602-0873. This is a shift shaft lever for 83-06 FLH. Search eBay for Harley heel/toe shift arms for an FLH.. I was pretty sure it would work but wasn't ready to cut up gear shift lever so I ordered the following from BRP. Gear Shift Lever #707001475 @ $29.99, Bearing, need two, #705600458 @ $14.99 ear, Washer #503192496 @ $1.04. I cut the top of the shift lever off and drilled hole for shift shaft, you want this to be a tight fit. In retrospect I would not cut the shift shaft till after it is welded. It is very difficult to weld it straight without having something to help hold the shaft. After you have completed the welding install the bearings. Should you not want to purchase the BRP parts be aware when you weld on the shifter it gets very hot and you need to keep the bearings as cool as you can.
