Hey folk's, Grandpa Pete here. I've got a question for all uvya.......For those that have had the 28/29K service done on a 14 RT, approx how much did it cost at your local dealer. I'm trying to find out how much blood I have to donate to build up my war chest of moola. Thanx all.......

Wd did mine at home. I can't remember what's included in that service. If it includes plugs it could be expensive as they aren't easy to get at

    Default 35K service

On my 2014 RT Limited, I went with 5K service, then 20k service, then 35k service.Sales pitch at purchase was 15k intervals so after the initial 5k service, I just did the math. The dealer said I should have gone 5K,15k,then 30k. Anyway the service was $587.00 Canadian. I thought that was expensive oil but they did change a couple of other filters. I was surprised at the three O rings charged to me. The only redeeming feature of using the dealer, vs doing it myself was the fact they always put the machine on the computer and in this instance they upgraded fuel mapping and something else. At least the machine doesn't stall now when taking off with a cold engine. The next service is a change of plugs so I will probably use them again but after that I may change my own oil.It could be best to wait till after the four year warranty expires to do my own work though.Replacing brake fluid may be tricky too.According to my service manual, they use their computer to bleed the brakes.I changed my own rear brake pads and the trick there is the fact that the piston has to rotate as you press it back with a c-clamp. Most applications with the emergency brake using the brake slave cylinder encounters this.

    Default Remember...

the transmission oil filter needs changing about then and it resides inside the engine on the semi automatic. They need to remove clutch cover so it will be costly at the dealer...

    Default Pricing Southeastern Ontario

Recently got my 5,000 km first full service done. Including oil change of course. Totall was $225+ tax. Got them to put synthetic instead of blended. Lockhart Odyssey in Courtland Ontario. Previously got them to install TriAxis handlebars which only took 2 1/2 hours to do. They obviously knew what they were doing because another dealer quoted me 4 1/2 -5 hours to install.
