Cruise control
Hello all,
Well we made the call to our nearest Spyder dealer, we ordered the right hand switch housing for our 2015 F3. It finally came and in about 2-1/2 hours worth of time and help from my lovely wife, we now have cruise control, works great!

Did the same with my 2013 RS. Made the trip from Nashville to New Orleans a lot better.

Easy way is simply to replace right hand switch with a new switch that has cruise. A little more work and you can add it for free. I posted my experience about a year ago. Do a search.

run into a snag
I did the very same upgrade.
Works great, except my throttle grip now binds. It stops just short of fully returning (1/8 turn).
I fiddled with it and found that the grip returns fully if I loosen the bottom screw of the two that hold the front switch housing to the TAS just a little (1/2 turn). Same thing with the screw that fixes the switch housing to the handle bar. Can't figure why.

I had the same problem on my 2013 RS when I installed a Ram mount with a hose clamp on the handlebar immediately next to the right throttle assembly and I tightened the hose clamp down real tight. It was quite a surprise the first time I fired up the Spyder and goosed the throttle, thankfully in neutral. Loosening the hose clamp freed up the throttle.
I wouldn't have thought squeezing the big handlebar assembly would have affected the throttle but it did.

It's nice how RS and ST owners are commenting on F3 issues/upgrades. lol I have researched it, and the easiest way for the F3 is to replace the whole right hand housing as they don't have a part number for the cruise control itself.

Perhaps I didn't make it clear. But I was answering WA5VHU's question about an RS.
The ST doesn't have a part number for just the Cruise Control.
This thread details the process for adding cruise for free. I seriously doubt the F3 is different under the plastic.

Sorry to rain on your parade.
I'll quit trying to help any F3 owners.

Do you mind if I ask what the cost was?

question im looking to do this to my F3 base model. could I not just use this part "Housing Switch 710005158". or do I have to replace the whole thing?

You have to replace the the entire right cluster, it is not just the switch. I just installed it on mine a few months ago. I have a 2019 F3 base. If you are thinking about heated grips do it at the same time. You have to take all the same panels off to run the wires.
