Depending on the *design* of the DESS system and how/whether the chip key's reader modules/antenna's are node locked - they may also need to replace the DESS module as well. The node locking has to do with preventing someone shoving an aftermarket DESS 'spoofing' system into the mix.

Before column mounted ignitions in cars, there was nothing preventing you from popping out your ignition popping it into someone else's in order to steal it.
I've read every post on that Thread ….. and 90% have just had to change the MODULE to get the issue fixed ….. which leads me to believe " changing the ignition switch " is purely a GUESS, and doesn't really effect anything …… good luck …. Mike
