    Default ST Spark Plug change?

Thinking of a Bargain ST. Anyone change the plugs on the "ST". Would it be the same as the GS/RS where you take off the airbox to get access to the wires and plugs OR is it a Monster Like doing the RT???

I had the dealer change mine. He told me 30 minutes labor! I said do it I not wasting my time over a 30 minute labor charge. They charged $15 a plug and $34 for labor which means it took less than 30 minutes. There labor rate is $89/hr.

He did tell me they do not have to remove the air box.

    Default Well..!!

More like the RS. Mine became a breeze when I got rid of the air box. Does it need new plugs..??

No- I'm thinking of Trading the 09GS with 33,000 miles for New 2014 STS sm5 ($14,500) because at 66 I'm getting tired of the Cramped Leg GS riding position! Going to Demo a F3 Monday before I decide?

I have not changed the spark plugs on a ST but thinking of the 2013 model year. The RT, ST, RS are identical. Same engine, frame, air box and plumbing. So the amount of effort to change the plugs on all 3 would be the same.

[SIZE=5]I have 29k miles on my 2013 STL. My bike runs great and I avg 31+mpg. I've not changed plugs or wires, has anyone else gone this long without changing the plugs? Should I be concerned? /SIZE]

    Default ST Spark Plug change?

I changed mine when I did most of the 14k service. I also replaced the plug wires. Got all from BajaRon. Only removed the air filter housing to get to the front plug. Routed the wire from the right side and a friend would be helpful. The one neat thing is I have Bluetooth to listen to radio and I noticed a a slight buzz, but now with new plug wires, the noise is gone.

The craftsman tool I used to pull the caps off the plugs.

It took approx. 2hrs remove panels and mirrors to get to front plug.
I plan to do some mods prior to install of new plugs.
    Again, thanks Flamewinger!
