DEFLECTORS
Last night i put wind deflectors on my RS.
Rode into work 5:30AM.
Worked well for the wind. Bot noticed a lot fumes directed up toward me . Never noticed this before until i installed these.
One would assume fumes are following the deflectors.
Anyone else notice this?

Yeah..!!
The upper vents under the mirrors allow the engine aromas out but as the wind blows by them they dissapate. If those are the vents you installed then the wind blowing by may be pushing the aroma up your way more....

I got rid of the BRP units and went with the Baker brand they do the trick and
they are adjustable even while riding.

They are the BRP ones.
I agree with Gene. They are the natural fumes of the twin.
I didn't know Baker made them for RS.
Hubbie through them in when i bought some other items from him.
The price was right i guess part of thr trade off.
They do work well and look good

I have the BRP wind deflectors on my 1330-equipped RT and I do not notice on fumes. I like them a lot and do not like the look of the Baker wings. However, I would think that they move more air.

I fought this this battle with my GS before I upgraded. The deflectors create a negative pressure (a vacuum) and pull the exhaust fumes to you. I tried everything you could think of: moving exhaust, cal sci windshield, smaller clear deflectors, etc. Nothing worked perfect. I decided to just live with it until I upgraded to the ST.

I had Baker put them on my RSS at Spyderfest and they weren't really made right for the RS, I sent them back. I have them on my 2014 RTS and they are fine.
One of the hardest decisions you'll ever face in life is choosing whether to walk away or try harder.

Could you add a slightly longer, and re-shaped "stinger" to your exhaust? It might help to re-direct the exhaust flow JUST enough, to put an end to this...

If you put the deflectors on, install the touring windshield too. Mine came as a kit, and one without the other caused a lot of exhaust smell. Having the v35 bags on made it worse also.

I agree. I always wanted to dry an exhaust such as the stick exhaust on the RT and ST. The 2 pipes come out if the exhaust and turn down as opposed to it going straight out. The width of the ultra touring windshield does add to the problem.
