clutch slipping?
I don't know if this is normal or not but after my bike sits for a couple days, and after I start it and put it in first gear, it seems like it hesitates a second or two before the clutch grabs and finally takes off. I don't have any further problems with the hesitation or slipping when going on a ride. It just seems to happen after the bike has sit for a few days. Is this normal? I had a 2012 RTS and didn't notice it happening on that bike. I now own a 2015 RTS.

Not slipping...
sounds like you need to warm things up a bit more. Oil drains out of the hydraulics in the clutch after your first shift it charges back up and things are normal. You do have the correct oil and change it....oops see you have a 2015 so still on the first oil...let it warm up and if it gets worse have it checked out...

If the clutch is truely slipping you will be able to tell it the most in the highest gear where the load is the most so get going put it in 5th or 6th gear roll the throttle wide open and watch the rpm's if it's slipping you will be able to tell then

It's brand new. Take it to your dealer. Even if you have to let it sit for a couple of days so they can replicate the problem; it's on their nickel.

The bike has done it since it was new. I just had the 3000 mile service done a few weeks ago and the oil is at the full level. I tried giving it full throttle and there is no slippage at all. I guess a trip to the dealer is in the cards.

So are you saying that I just need to let the bike idle for a couple minutes before putting it into gear?

When cold the clutch engagement is slower than when the oil is warm.

How cold have your mornings been? My garaged '14 since day has been start, reverse, back right out, first and off I go, zero lag. Dead of winter the garage may get to 50oF.

Well since its been hotter than a firecracker, I'd say the morning temps have been close to 80 F.

When I first take off cold, my '14 RT will hesitate. I just always figured that was the fluid pressure being pumped up. After that initial start up issue, it has never repeated. It has done that since new. WE now have 18k on the bike and the clutch is just fine. I recently just went to Mobile 1 motorcycle oil and it initially engages better and shifts smoother.

Ditto. Watch the Tach and when it drops to normal, with bike in Neutral, blip the throttle a couple times up to about 2K or so and that gets the oil flowing. Betcha a nickle thats what it is. Mine does the same; always has.

Ok, with two other people Doc, & Ulflyer with the same type of hesitation when the motor is cold, I'd have to believe that this may be just the nature of the beast. I will allow the bike to warm up longer though and see it that helps any. Anybody else who is inpatient as me, who starts they bike and want to take off immediately and feel that 1330 engine purr like a tiger?

Mine gets about as much warm-up time as it takes to release the parking brake, and slap it into gear.
