I had an odd experience a few weeks back. Didn't catch anyone messing with my Spyder, but I noticed my phone charging cable was no longer to be seen. I was afraid someone had ripped it out, but it turned out some idiot fed it all down into the bike, micro USB end and all! So now I have a half cover, and the cable comes out in front of the seat, where I can hide it when it's not in use.
Still can't figure out why anyone would do that though...maybe they thought they were "fixing" it?

Just call the cops; grand theft auto in progress. Say this: "Officer, I saw him manipulating the controls, trying the switches, and pushing to starter button. I can only think of one reason to do that; to start the $30,000 dollar machine to steal it!" To add excitement to the mix, mention you believe he has a weapon!

I live in Colorado and I don't think people sitting on Motorcycles is an issue being the "wild west" people were hung in the old days for messing with someone's horse, lol.
I did have someone take my old sweaty helmet once. Another time they took my prescription sunglasses that were bent, scratched and makeup dirty. Got to wonder about people sometimes.

I see the "Herd" gets a little nervous when this happens!
A toy Rattlesnake left on the seat usually prevents this.

I wonder if a loop of striped barricade tape or rope suspended from handlebars to passenger backrest would help at all? No sun protection, but cheap and easy.

intruders on the seat.
This happen to us once. It was not pretty for the one seating on it. So now I put a half cover on and set our helmets on the seat under it. helps the lookie lues out and helps keep the seat and helmets cool. Lets see them set on it now. it may take a couple extra minutes but its worth it.

Gorilla alarm....

Agree, that if you approach someone on the machine, let them know you consider it that they were stealing it. Maybe start the cell phone video as you approach them. No different than climbing inside someones car or truck and sitting in the seat to "check it out".
Words spoken often are not a strong and powerful to prevent a next time. Other things mentioned in previous posts, certainly make a lasting impression.
There was another post long ago, I thought the Spyder owner went up to the person sitting on the machine and acted a bit as if they did not own the Spyder, then asked the stranger sitting on the Spyder what he drove. The guy pointed to his car and the Spyder owner went over and climbed in or sat on the hood. The guy was livid. He was then asked why he considered it ok to sit on the Spyder.
What model alarm did you put on? Professional install or DIY???

Hope you're joking. Brandishing your firearm is a criminal offense and at the least you'll lose your carry permit and probably your weapon.

Check out Geeza Covers, they are stretchy and pack very small, I have a couple that I use on my 2 wheelers and one fits my RT as well.

Yes, how exciting! You realize the potential for someone to get hurt increases when you mention a weapon? The excitement you crave can come in all forms. Just think, the officer getting the call rushes to the scene, believing an armed auto theft is in progress (We call that a car jacking.). He's involved in a crash and someone gets injured, maybe killed. All because you want a little excitement. Is that exciting enough?
Or, how about the officer just sat down to lunch. He either leaves it on the table or tries to get it to go and it spills all over his uniform because he's in a hurry trying to get to you because he doesn't know you're just wanting a little excitement. Not only does he have a dirty uniform, his lunch is wasted and $$$ out the window. Unfortunately, you'll never know that excitement, unless, of course, you get excited to see his freshly stained uniform. Not as exciting as the first example, but hey... How's that?
Or maybe he's just on another run (not quite as high a priority as a car jacking) and has to leave to take care of you. Now you've inconvenienced someone else because they have to wait until he gets back to them.
I'd like to think your little blurb about throwing a gun in the mix for excitement was just a joke. If you were serious, please reconsider. There's a time and a place to mention a gun... When there really is a gun.
