Are these modifications doable at home?
Hi everyone! I've got my list of changes that I'd like to make to my Spyder and wanted to know if all, or most, of them are able to be done in a home garage:
1. LED lights (auxiliary)
2. BRP emblems to Spyder (spider) emblem
3. Foot pegs/boards
4. USB port (I watch video that was posted today)....doable
5. Anti-sway bars
6. Riser block (1 inch)
7. Add fog lights and change headlights to brighter ones
I'm trying to find videos, etc. from the internet but there's really not that much out there.
Hubby and I are pretty handy together, but I want to try to do most of it myself.

#1 - #4 definitely!
#5 if you can get it high enough to drop the bar
#6 & #7 unknown
There are several thread on #5 on what is needed and how high to raise the bike.
I'm sure others given give further details on all of these.

....But that's easy for me to say ...to date I have completed 48 changes ,additions ,upgrades, farkels, mods, etc to my 2014 basic RT......98 % of were home made DIY......One thing I would absolutely steer you away from is the 1 inch RISER...been there done that.....Total waste of time and money.....It won't accomplish what you are putting it on for ......Get the 4 1/2 inch easy risers for $ 129.00 ( I think from custom dynamics a sponsor here ) in either black or silver....They are way easier to put on, look better, and actually work.......LED's can be bought on E-Bay for 10 % of what you pay anywhere else and the wiring is not rocket science.....and video's can be found on this forum for just about anything you want to do......PM Bob " finless "......I think He has done most of the video's, and " arntufun ".......Good Luck and ask questions......Mike ............self proclaimed KING of DIY mods

Go for it
All of your items are easily done at home. The 1" riser block IS a waste of time and money. Look at the easy risers.
If you get stuck, ask questions.
it was fun while it lasted.

On your year bike with basic skills you can do everything, my sway bar on my 13 was a little bit of a challenge just because of how high it had to go up, yours shouldnt be bad. Headlight bulbs are easy to change if you want the HID you'll need to remove more body panels. Fog lights are no problem, USB the only problem would be to decide where you want to mount it.
Good luck with your add ons

So happy to hear these can be done by myself or with help from hubby.
I really thought that the 1" riser would be the fix I needed. I am already using the ultimate seat that moved me 2 inches closer but I'm still just a wee bit short. When I ride, my arms are completely straight with all of my upper body weight on my hands and wrists; after a couple of hours they start to get sore and in between my shoulders burns. I'll look into the other suggestions.
Thanks everyone. I'm sure I'll be asking for help at some point.

Taller risers
Are just what you need. Don't be afraid of cutting the bars. It's easy.

I like my 1" riser. Just a bit of added height, but not to much. [emoji87]

The ST's bars wouldn't bolt up on the older RS; would it??

Which is why I had to have one of my kids take out those pesky bolts from under the steering cover. That clearance is super tight!...[emoji38]
