Hey, Bob! Since somebody just asked about this today, how has the spring held up since you made this modification?

Great fix...
for the video and explanation. This has been asked a lot just one question...how did you get it on ?? coiled it or does the tip come off to slide it on...

Still working fine... I did take it off once and re-stretch it... If you can get a stiffer one all the better.
Chupa... you remove the shock and then yes you coil it on. The end does not come off.

Question: at what point of adding lights and accessories to the lid, does this become an issue. I'm considering adding the HMT: is that the "tipping point"?
I added the BRP internal trunk lid zip bag and the HMT light. I do not keep a lot of stuff in the internal lid zip bag... My 2 remotes for my alarm, 4 AAA batteries, and 2 USB cords. Just that caused my lid not to stay up.

Thanks! I should be okay, with just the HMT...
