You may be on to something. I have seen this product used on car rims on tv. They said it would hold up for 6 months or more. Yours looks good.
If I can't fix it, I will fix it so no one can fix it. Sypder Loco!

Looks great . . . been debating doing this to my plastic "chrome" parts.

Prep work.
If you don't plan on separating all the pieces, I would get several different sizes of masking tape starting out at about 1/4". All I had was like 1-1/2" blue tape laying around, it worked but since there are very few straight lines it took a lot more effort.
You will also need some degreaser/wax remover.
It simplifies things if you mask off all that you don't want painted. But if you get some over spray on something it cleans off easily.

Plasti Dip...
is another. I used a similar one made by Rust-O-leum. We have some ryders that have done the bars and all chrome and grey parts. Works well. Yours turned out great changes the look quite a bit. Congrats...

It's as you said, basically the same as plasti-dip. I love plasti-dip! I have used it on everything from the bumper of my wife's minivan that faded from the sun, to a motorcycle helmet that I wanted to change to bright yellow. Just make sure you use 4-5 coats or else when you peel it off, it will be too thin and be a HUGE pain in the neck to peel off. If its got enough coats and thick enough, it should peel off in one nice and easy sheet. There are several colors of plasti-dip and even the chameleon colors that change color as you walk past them or look at them at different angles.

Looks very nice with the Cognac color.

Plasti Dip
Pretty good stuff. I did all my silver panels last spring. They have held up very well. The whole write up is on the diy board.
it was fun while it lasted.
