Alarm system for 2013 RT
Does anyone have any recommendation for the RT? The service technician says they really aren't recommended because of the nanny and the ignition system?

My take: Alarm systems are a bit expensive. The is programmed to not start without the coded key present. That should provide enough deterrent for most. Some people cannot even start them with the key--as in, failure to press the mode button after boot up.
A determined thief is going to take your --regardless.
Adequate full coverage insurance to cover you in the event of a theft is where I am at.
Sorry, but I do not have any recommendations for alarm systems--which was actually your question.
Thank you

I have a Scorpio i900. I had one on my 2010 RT for four years and I have had one on my 2014 for a year and a half. No Problems. I only use the perimeter and vibration sensors. I did not connect it to the ignition. I use it to keep from people messing with it or sitting on it.

SPY 5000 alarm system. Uses vibration and a microwave sensor which I set so that anyone in the Y would cause it to chirp.
Mainly use it to keep idiots from getting on the Spyder when your not around. Believe it or not had it happen twice but not anymore.

It's a choice...
depends on where you are, travel or stay...as far as theft I agree with AKSpyderman. But for a deturrent for the curious and photo op folks it works well. I use a pull over heat and rain cover to do that. There are systems out there but the installation can be tricky...
