Noiced this after a hot ride (about 90 deg. for an hour). Seems like brake fluid. Is this a normal overflow? Seems about a tablespoon or so. Wasn't hot or anything. Reservoir looked fine. Have not received a "brake failure" warning message (though I had one in the winter and added, ironically, a tablespoon). Reservoir is not topped-off under seat. Source seems to be coming from in front of the shock.
Recently had a similar problem. Seems the caps have a breather hole and need to be positioned to the high side. ( towards the back ) also the level is sensative and if overfilled will leak down the front of the resivoir and on down as you showed. I now tuck a folded paper towel in the forward section to make sure it doesen't run down there...

Ah! There was a bit of fluid there. That reservoir is quite pesky. The sensor indicates LOW and BRAKE FAILURE in the winter because of the fluid compressing ever-so-slightly! I'll re-position and try to find the hole. Easy. THANKS GUYS!
Quite a paint eating repeat error when they prep or work these, the rubber underside of the cap has a vent slit that needs to be rotated near the raised plastic bump on the top side. It can be aimed more aft than that bump on the top.
