    Default BRP Comfort Seat

    Just had the BRP Comfort seat installed on my 2014 RT. Black/Charcoal grey combo--just like the original seat.

    I held off for 15K miles with the OEM, but finally had to cave in. After 50 miles or so--I had to go to the Airhawk.

    The Comfort has a bit more support and the set back of a couple more inches does make a difference, IMO--of course.

    The tally now is five replaced seats on five 's owned. Two Corbins and three BRP Comfort seats.

    Why, oh why, doesn't BRP equip at least the upline 's with a better (at least comfort seat level) seat from the git go?

    Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

    MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

    i love me comfort seat, but i prefer a gel seat instead of the air hawk

    Why didn't you save the other seats?

    I have two OEM from the RT's on the shelf as well as one Corbin from my 2010 which I have had on sale here. The other seats went with the bikes.

    At the moment, I am preferring Comfort to Corbin.

    I'm with cuznjohn. I ride for hours on end on my comfort seat, do not need a back rest or any additional padding device.

    From the threads I've read here over nearly a year there is probably no single piece of Spyder equipment that has more fervent fans and enemies of than seats. No single seat manufacturer, BRP included, can satisfy all the backsides.

    Got it, I have tried Corbin and they are not for me. I would think that moving back 2" would be great. When I ride my wife's 2012 I am wanting to move back after about 50 miles.

    I've been thinking about that comfort seat, but my fear is that I won't be able to reach the handlebars without having to lean forward all the time. Anyone have that issue?

    I am 5' 5" and don't find the "lean" to be to uncomfortable. One can also slide forward a bit to move around from time to time.

    Tri Axis bars can also assist with handle bar positioning.

    I had the TriAxis handlebars put on my 2014 along with the Comfort Seat and the BRP backrest. Without the TriAxis bars I wouldn't be able to use the backrest, I'd be leaning forward. I love the combination. I'm 5'10" with long legs.

    Pam, hopefully you can find one to sit on so you see hot it fits.
    I recently bought a used one off this forum and equipped it with the Utopia off the OEM seat. I find the extra bit of room benefits not only my butt but my legs as well when I ride with the toes out on the black wind thingies and heels on the floorboards. I didn't expect that. As mentioned above, sometimes I slide forward a bit so I can lean back a little on the adjustable backrest. I'm 5-10 1/2, 29 inseam, arms 32 (dress shirts used to come in arm lengths), and have no trouble reaching the handlebars. The seat is slightly more firm than the OEM and I like the softer seat better, but I haven't felt any discomfort in the firmer seat. I'd love to have the adj bars but they are way too pricy for my wallet. Good luck.

    how else would BRP sell more seats if they installed a perfect feeling seat from the start ?

    If anyone is interested I have a 2013 BRP comfort seat that can be had far a good price. The 2013 does not already have the cut out for the backrest.
