F3 saddlebags feedback
Just got my Saddlebags, one side was defected, the lid does not reach the other lid to close, rubber to protect from water is kinked, and when poured water on it, it ran inside the bag.
key is hard to put in and difficult to remove it.
the outside material tucked inside the bag with staples.
the look is great, matches the bike, but not expected quality...
any feedback truly appreciated.

F3 Saddlebage Feedback
I have been waiting for mine (backordered) for over 2 months. Sounds like I may want to cancel my order and wait for an aftermarket alternative, especially at their price.

Especially if you have to shell out 1500$ for them

Why am I not surprised. They looked pretty funky on all the YouTube videos. When I was thinking of getting an F3 I found some really great looking bags form true Saddle Bag makers. I think the hard GIVI G35 would looked awesome, like it does on the RS.

2010 RT SM5 in 2011

2014 RTS SE6 in 2015, which has 35,000 miles
Oct 19th, 2017, totaled 2014 RT while killing a Javaline
Dec 12th, 2017 drove a 2017 F3L home. What an awesome machine!
Never had any breakdown stranded issues.

Only one thing to do . . . .
. . . . . Return them.
If you like the bags, ask for a replacement - otherwise get your money back and shop around.
Think of it like this, YOU are the final Q&A on this product. It failed.

Thank you for a very sensible and courteous suggestion on how to handle this matter. Hopefully BRP will see and correct the problem when they start getting bags back.

Same challenges getting the key in/out. Also, one key is parallel to the centerline of the Spyder when locked, the other is perpendicular. My right side bag seems temperamental to get it latched: which side are you having trouble with? Perhaps it's more than just one bag.

Wayne,
i have same exact issues with keys. The leaking side is on my left.
Question: did you look under the right hand side bag (over the exhaust) it is covered with a thin foamy layer with aluminum layer. I'm concerned that in the rain it will be soaked wet.
do you have same layer????

Oops, i do have the heat shield. If it's closed cell foam it won't absorb water-think life vest.
Wrong==> I don't have the heat shields on my right side. Hasn't been a problem yet.

Getting the keys in and out is a bit stiff for me too. Closing/locking them just requires a push in to engage the lock.
Yesterday I had an issue removing one of the saddlebags -- the "slide lock" must have gotten dirty/gritty and I couldn't spin the dial inside the bag to get it off. I ended up riding with one bag until I got back home and my husband used some more brute force than I have to get the slide to move.
Other than that, I'm really happy with the bags.

1-Does one of the bags has separation/gap between 2 parts at closing conjunction???
2- do you have heat paper under the side on top of exhaust ?
3- if you pour water on both, is there any leak inside?

1. The gaps around the opening seams are pretty even and cover the gasket around the opening (I do push in as I lock it with the key).
2. I do have heat paper/some sort of shield under the side with the exhaust, but I haven't looked too closely at it, I just felt it when I was trying to get that bag off (that one was the one that was "stuck on")
3. I haven't poured water on them, but I have had them on with stuff inside in the rain for 2 separate rides now and nothing inside got wet.

This has happened to me on one side or the other. From the outside of the bag, pull forward on the sliding lock bar. If you can pull it forward, it will unlock and you can push it back and/or spin the dial.

That was the issue I had on my left side bag when I got them. (Think I was one of the first on here). Unless
you set it up by turning the dial, then securing the front exterior stop... it does not work. If you can at all
manually move the sliding bar forward, it unlocks the inside dial and then the unit will slide. The darn thing
really needs a spring loaded detent behind that dial to keep it stationary.

I cant believe you people pay 1300.00 and dont go to the dealer to have this problem solved or demand your money back.

Do like I did put Harley police bags on. Sad part is can am rep told me in Wisconsin Rally they are made by the same people that make the Harley bags. Posted some pictures some time back on this forum. Have added spyder F3s LOGOS TO THE BAGS. Jim. OH and my old Harley liner goes right in, then off to the motel room.

Having them stick on isn't that big of a deal to me; I can get them off. I changed the locks so I don't have to deal with the cheap keys. I don't have any problems with them leaking or some of the other issues that I've read about. They work great for what I need and life's too short to get all worked up over a minor issue like a second of "oh it's stuck gotta go do that thing".

We purchased Viking Bags for our F3'S and love them. Very reasonable worked great in rain, great quality.
Never accept "no" from someone who does not have the authority to say "yes".
