Isn't it weird that in AMERICA our flag and our culture offend so many people...... but our benefits don't?
KTM running great. Going 100-120 K I get 50 mpg! All 10 Spyders plus me are running well, no problems, except dirt and rain. No gas issues, no real traffic. Great trip, great folks! Cheers! Joe
15 people total.
Thanks Joe. Which KTM do you have. Been looking at them. Great mileage.
Tell all hello for me.

I just saw this video from Shawn Smoak up in Wa. at ProCaliber dealer.
He was talking about someone going to Alaska from Oregon. I assume it's someone on this trip?
It appears they broke down due to some cheap LED strip that was installed on the trunk lid......

It was Robin I think. From Vegas. It was her battery. The cheap LED strip was the magnesium one at the start. He said he had them confused. He said ALWAYS use the Yuasa batteries.
WTF? Sean replaced the MaP sensor on her Spyder. Had nothing to do with LED lights. Sean must be smoking some of that weed in WA. Get your story straight before posting BS on YouTube.

We had s beautiful sunny ride today from Burns Lake to Tatogga Lake, Iskut, British Columbia. Gorgeous mountain lakes and smooth curvy roads. Gas stops take a while as they have a law here that all purchases must be prepaid do our original gas plan had to be scrapped.
Tomorrow is a long day to the Yukon Territory.

Gary, the gas stop has a restaurant also but I have no idea how long they've been there. Tatogga Lake is nice, they have a new motel with 10 or so rooms and they still have primitive cabins. It is a family affair and they are planning on staying open this winter. They have work crews staying here and they feed them first then the rest of us got to eat. They let us use their laundry facilities for free too.

Ann, that's good news. They really needed more gas and food stops on 37.
Tatogga was pretty rustic before. Adding rooms is good and work crews are a big part of their business I think. They had them there when we came through. We only ate there and gassed up and stayed at Mountain Shadow RV and camp ground just past Iskut on the left hand side. A beautiful spot if anyone has the time to run down their road.
Tomorrow, roughly half way between Dease Lake and the junction with the Alaska Highway is Jade City. There is one of those "reality" TV shows by that name or something like that and is shot somewhere close to it. If anyone likes jade, there is lots to buy there, just not sure if the prices are any good but worth a quick stop at least.

The Stewart Cassiar Highway is great. Glad you went that route. Now you're off to Teslin. Stayed there, too, at the Yukon Motel. Nice restaurant and nice campground if any of your group is into camping. Enjoy.
This is our upcoming forecast. I would say its the "usual" after going through the best three weeks of summer we have had since 2001. The % chance of rain has gone down since last night for our Tue/Wed rides with the NTA group. Thur/Fri still remains to be seen. Although no one likes rain, it is much needed here to put a damper on many of the fires that are burning everywhere in the state.

Well this will be the report of the Great, the Good, the Bad and the Are You Kidding Me!!!
Great for last two days...is first and foremost this group of merry travelers...amazing group of people with awesome positive attitudes. 2d our Spyders are all running like champions. 3rd we stayed Tuesday night at Burns Lake, BC..Sunshine motel..just a typical motel not much to report on that. But Weds. night we were at Tatooga Lake Resort...this is a fishing camp as well as they feed work crews..for the past weeks the crew has been those that are building a camp back in the mountains for gold mine exploration. They are helicopter to the resort...fed great home cooking and flown back to work. Most of us got to stay in the "new" finish "motel" wing...really very nice motel rooms. Then there is the cabin that Fred stayed in...price was great $30 and for that he got a bed with clean bedding...yep that is all.....BUT he was on the lake and what more does a guy need than a cabin in the woods on a lake and a front porch...sure didn't need to outhouse!!! A wonderful rustic place.
Another Great is the scenery....Roger keeps saying "oh this is nothing" just you wait!!
the Good: weather has been mostly good...enough rain and dropping temps to have us welcoming the warmth of our little motel (8 rooms and we have them all!!!)..the roads are mostly ok..where not seems always marked..if you are looking for the "slow" (i.e. dip ahead) down sign kinda buried on side of road.
the Bad: Not so good on seeing wild animals. One of our passenger wives has seen 2 black bear... several eagles ...the rest of us...not even a mouse...some road kill, but nothing worth scraping up and having for dinner.
R U kidding: Well the first one is on me...Weds. a.m. I set alarm (never, truly never, in my life have I even had to have alarm go off...) well not on Weds. my roomie wakes me and says your alarm went off 1/2 hour ago. Yep, didn't know I could move that fast...shower, packed, and ready to roll in 20 minutes.
#2...all gas has to be prepaid before you can pump AND US credit cards will not operate the outside pumps...
#3...no cell service for verizon or t mobile since entering BC paid them an extra $15 oh well. I still remember some smoke signals from back in the day
Final: batteries died on my SPOT tracker 1/2 to Teslin. Fresh ones aaaa not in easy range. So folks I know where I am. If that helps!!!
Tonight is a just rest/relax...instead of our usual 6:30 a.m. depart...it will be a leisurely 9 a.m. depart...only have about 110 miles to travel tomorrow (Whitehorse Yukon area)...we have been traveling about 350-380 miles a day..
Yep this is a mighty fine way to travel North to Alaska..
Until next time,
Karyl/murphybrown

Just loving the cool! A good 60 degrees cooler than Las Vegas! We don't mind the rain, and the days fly by! Great group, great outdoors, great ride!
Adventure bikes outnumber everything else, by far!
