A few years back, Michael Jordan was criticized for betting $10000 on golf games. He replied that his kids probably wouldn't go hungry if he lost. He was making $30M a year salary and probably more than that from endorsements. To him, $10K was pocket change. If I spent $25000 gold plating my wheels and made $60M a year, I suspect it wouldn't be considered excessive but if I spent the same on what I bring it... well it would be insane. Then, as far as the value of gold plated wheels to the looks? Subjective I guess as I they would look, well dumb.

with all the electro-plating advances you couldn't tell if it were gold or paint.. used to be solid and expensive, now its plated and cheap. Do you really care... some people have more money than sense but it is their money...
