Authorized dealers should have access to BRP's BOSS site where they can do all sorts of BRP things include reading these bullitens.

Thanks for this info. I started having some problems going from reverse to first. Called the dealer, mentioned the Bulletin. He called back in @15 minutes and quoted replacement of the Gear Angle Position Sensor, Oil Pressure Regulatory Spring and the software update. He even asked how my power steering was doing. Said they need her for about a week. Sure hope he's right about that This is the only problem I've had and I'm still completely happy with the SE5.

SE5 shifting problem fixed
My 2008 Spyder with 945 miles suddenly started to shift rough after a 200 mile trip and completely stopped shifting, all in about a 20 minute period on Jan.24th. I hauled it to the dealer in North Carolina and three weeks later after a backorder on the recall parts the service manager told me, the recall parts didn't totally fix the problem. They now needed a solenoid switch and gasket and guess what!! BRP told them those parts were on back order, which might be up to 3 months. I hit the ceiling, called my attorney and he confirmed the Lemon Law in Georgia didn't even include motorcycles. The nearest Spyder dealer to me is in North Carolina. North Carolina has a really good Lemon Law that covers motorcycles. My attorney said i was covered, since i bought it in NC.
My dealer, Smith Power Sports in Hayesville,NC, in particular Kathy and Red in the service department went to bat for me and a few days later was able to get the needed parts and made sure everything was good as new before calling me. I drove it home on March 2, and its really nice to have it back in the stables with the other bikes, (which get neglected when the Spyder is running good).

Great work...really great! There is no excuse for BRP not to have a bike under warranty working quickly!

Parts are covered under warranty. I won't have to pay for anything. My VIN # was covered in the bulletin is the way I understand it.

Looks like corporation is taking advantage of law by ignoring the states without legal protection and favor the states with established law. Impossible for one state dealer to get a 3 mo. wait and the other with a 2 days wait. Just doesn't compute.

I disagree. In my book this is strictly the dealer. Unfortunately for us all, dealer commitment and dealer approach to problems varies greatly. I'm sure some take advantage of the loopholes in the variations in state laws, so some may not try nearly as hard if they have no penalty involved. The corporation is never involved in warranty issues until asked to intervene. Some dealers are willing to solicit help from the corporation, while sadly, others are not. Just my view.

As far as I'm concerned, every Spyder dealer has an entire set of spare parts they should use if they cannot get them shipped within 48 hours from BRP.
Where are these spare parts?
On every unsold Spyder they have on their sales floor. Take the parts of them and then replace with new when they come in.
Obviously BRP has the parts, but would rather use them to build new Spyders instead of keeping current owners happy.
I've got mine in to the dealer for 6,000 checkup and steering to be fixed. I'm going to be patient since weather doesn't permit riding much right now. I expect them to have the Spyder for 2 weeks. Anything beyond that and things will get ugly.
I clearly stated to my dealer that I filed a report with the NHTSA and gave them the complaint number to share with BRP. Maybe this will get their attention.
While dropping my Spyder off for this service I spent quite a bit of time looking at new Spyders on the dealer floor and noticed many differences on them from my PE Spyder.
The parking brake is different. Not as far back on the bike, different pedal and different angle.
The regular foot brake is different too. Seems to just 'click' on and off - at least I could hear a loud CLICK when depressing it - and it didn't seem much like you could apply more pressure--- felt more like just an 'on and off'. Strange.
We all need to keep ontop of these problems and push BRP to take care of us.
I think there should be a recall on all Spyders to have their steering checked out.

Very Interesting... Parts ordered and on hand and still keeping the spyder for a week....????? hummm .. I am not sure, if not warranty, I could afford the spyder repairs.

I would never leave my Spyder with a dealer overnight, let alone for a week. There is no repair that takes more than a few hours. They just want to work on it at their leisure.....
