Question relating to heat on the LH side
Had the longest ride yet on my 2009 GS Spyder that I bought in November (this winter sucked!), rode for 120 miles. Temp was in the high 70's/low 80's. Had a great time, but my left leg got quite warm. Just wondering if there are any tips to mitigate this? Had no issue on the RH side with my foot.

Wrap your pipe with high temp exhaust wrap.
....and we're gonna ride, we're gonna ride.....

the devil close behind,.....we're gonna ride....

Well..!!
he's right. Usually we hear about the right side (sitting on the spyder). That side has a variety of cures. You might also check the "Y" gaskets. Those are where the pipes turn down about ankle high behind the panels...

Hey... If your up in the rt23 franklin area let me know and if I'm available we can ride. I have a 09 spyder RS myself. Always looking to meet new people with spyders. Also chatter box in Sussex has bike night on Thursdays nights, but I'm not sure if it started yet. [emoji111]️andy

Thanks Andy, I'll keep you in mind. I went to one bike night in 2012 when I was between employment. My current hours won't let me attend, but hopefully that may change. If nothing else we can ride on the weekend sometime.

Thanks
Thanks all for the advice, it's good to have access to a group of experienced owners.

You should post something in the New Jersey forum when you plan something. When I only have time for a short ride I usually make a loop up 23, through West Milford, then through Ringwood and Pompton Lakes.

These things are heat machines, especially the RTs. wrapping the pipe is not going to help your left side i dont think, as said its usually people complaining about the right side but i think the whole thing is hot. The best advice i have is to make sure your feet are spread as far apart on the pegs as possible, the closer your legs are to the "tupperware" the hotter it is.

Not much advice for the heat issue, but I ride a GS and last week cruised down 23, from High Point, to 287 north. I was also in Ringwood on Saturday. We should try a North NJ/Southern NY meetup. Maybe Shepard Lake? Or Sterling Forest? Or even Harriman..Silvermine has a pretty nice sized lot.
Also, the car/bike cruise night at Bear Mountain State Park should be starting soon

I've not heard of that one. Do you have more info? I have a daughter in Kingston, and I could spend a night or two there, if I go to this cruise night you mentioned.
