What after-market GPS is most favored by Spyder riders?

all on two wheels. More on four or more. Guess I may need to start multi-coloring for three wheels.

Not the most favored but I sure like using my Samsung Galaxy 7" tablet with the Sygic GPS app. Great app and the screen size is wonderful!

I brag about it here! http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...BRP-GPS-Part-1

    Most favored? No clue
I've been using a Garmin 660 since it came out, and across 3 bikes (2 Harleys and now Spyder RT).
It's weatherproof and easily adaptable to most makes and configurations.

Zumo 660 seems to be the brand many use. I really like mine. My only critique as with others is that it is hard to see the screen sometimes in the sunlight.

    Default GPS

    Hi,

I used the Zumo before, the Zumo based software is outdated and not as easy to use as the ZooZ 5.0" waterproof GPS.

Check out this ZooZ GPS, there are numerous Spyders in the West Coast using it, there is also a special Spyder adapter for this unit so it is very easy to install.

You can see some information on the modern advanced software at

    Thanks

    Default Thanks for the info

I am thinking if trading my RTL and I really like having a GPS. I will look into the one I had not heard of before. The 660 is what I had in mind (or the 665)

Probably the most expensive one .............Seriously tho, I have a Garmin LMT 50...5in screen..............and it was really easy to make it waterproof......one wrap around with Saran Wrap each way .......short of submerging it that's good enough IMHO.....Mike

    So true!
I use an inexpensive LM50 I bought awhile ago from "crews or joe". It's been through a few rain storms and works good for what I need it for. As long as it keeps turning on, it will stay. Best part is that since it's cheap, I don't worry much about it disappearing while I'm away from the bike. If it does, I'm not out much.

as you can see...Garmin... a variety of models. I just pull the one from the car and go but can't justify the cost of the special for models....

I did not consider the 50 LMT would be that water tight! Thanks!

It probably isn't, and who knows what mine looks like on the inside.....[emoji38] However, for the $100 it doesn't break the bank.

Hi Blickdave, You can order it on the website, at the checkout use the coupon SPY40 and get $40 discount.

For the F3 you don't need the adapter that was developed for the RT.

Please don't hesitate to PM me and I will send you my phone number to answer any question you may have.

What software does it use for mapping? How often is it updated? Are the map updates free or is there a fee? How long has the mapping software been around in the US? I couldnt really find any info on zooz or the zg5050 you sell. Thanks!

Very similar to a lot of other GPS units coming out of China.

You have to buy maps as they do not come with them. Cannot speak for this ZooZs device by if I had to bet, you have to buy maps.

    Default garmin 665

ive had the garmin 665 on my victory for 72000 miles and 23 states, I love the xm radio on this unit, surely keeps me entertained. going to transfer it over to my 2015 f3s right soon. don't know if the new 590 garmin has xm radio installed or not, but I don't need to spend another 1000.00 for a gps unit and mounting kit.

    Hi,

ZooZ Inc. is located in San Jose (Silicon Valley) CA.

The unit is shipped with iGo Primo, you can find some information about iGo Primo http://thegadgetpill.com/igo-primo-a...p-for-android/, or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IGO_%28software%29, they are shipping maps since 2008, just search iGo Primo and you will find great information.

Updates can be purchased online from many sources like http://www.gpsmapstore.com/america-gps-navi-map.

    I hope this information helps.

I like my Garmin Nuvi 1450 LMT. It stays in my car until I wanna use it on the bike. Cheap and easy to use, not water tight, but a sandwich bag fits perfectly over the top if it rains. I like the ease of downloading routes to it too. I use TYRE for my routing plans.

It looks like a good product. However when I went to the map link, the latest map version I saw listed was over a year old. Did I miss something? If I read the iGo info they provide maps on various OEM platforms. Surely these maps are updated more often.
    Love my

Statistics show that most motorcycle accidents are caused by a defective nut holding the handlbars.

    Default Map Updates

Most iGo maps are updated once year and yes there are multiple sources to get those maps.

If you send me an email address I can send you the software manual, it is a modern advanced software that is very easy to use with many nice features.

I am also using it as a player so I can have control on the music right from the 5" screen.
