    Default zumo 590 hookup

want to hook up the 590 zumo, want to hardwire it to the battery with the wires it comes with, thats what the black and red are used for in the kit. dealer says don't hardwire it because the electronics are like a high maintance girlfriend. i call this crap, thats what the wires are for. how did you hook up your zumo. i have the 2015 f3s.

    Default zumo wire

Waiting for the GPS mount to come in but plan on useing the 12v power in the trunk that BRP left for owner power. I have a Garmen 660 off my old Harley that I will use. Also going to switch it for the cycle sounds amp and mount speakers on the handle bars. Power under the left plate will be for the usb plug from BRP. Have fun with it.

If you have the BRP 590 coming you will want the mounting kit as well. The GPS does not come with the harness. The harness is in the mounting kit. There is a plug and play connector on the right side for the 590.

Better to wire a GPS to a switched power source so when you turn off the bike the GPS turns off.

Thats where we wired the Zumo into.

On my F3, the right side plug and play was wired with black as hot and red as ground. Go figure...

On the right side of the bike there is a plug just for the GPS. I wired mine to one of the aux taps before finding it. The gps one is hot with the key on, all the aux are only hot while running. I see no problem wiring it direct to the battery.

My GPS mounts are being built now and should have them in the next week or two.

I can't wait to get one installed. I really don't like where BRP put the GPS for the F3.

Default Harley 660 Garman on F3

Plug under tupperware right side below driver seat BRP kit has plug in it or run your own and tap onto it. I got BRP kit and used my
Garmin 660 from Harley on the new F3. Had to use my base and harness as it is not the same mount.as 550. 660 has XM radio.
Power is on with key so no run down battery. Enjoy!
