    Unhappy Bag Reply

Seen pictures of the BRP Cross Country Bags but none in person, do they really exist? Three months and holding.

I talked to Mike yesterday and it looks like the mold will be done in two weeks. I have a trip planned to go out there and have a custom seat made for one of the phantom bikes that's going to Hollywood and I'll be coming back with bags on it. Stay tuned.

    Default The F3 Fleetliner"s live

Go to the Corbin site look under new stuff, and click on Daily news.
Then click on the Blue type in the article "integral part of the Can-Am design"
there you will see two pictures, one outside, and one inside shot of the bags.

too bad they wont disconnect to be used as luggage bags. would be more convenient on longer trips.

Are you saying they won't come off?

Just had a look at the Corbin site. Truly superb bags. I am assuming they are easily detachable, and I hope they don't have an intrusive frame.

They didn't with the RS, and Lamont said earlier in the thread, "you'll only take them off when doing maintenance".

If it is like their other bags, they don't come off too often. They are not hard to take off, but it will take a couple of tools, and about 10 minutes of your time. I had them on a kawasaki zzr1200 and a suzuki M109R. Both were high quality bags, and looked great, but you still needed to have your clothes and such in soft side luggage that you could remove and bring into the hotel with you. I had some high quality, recyclable grocery bags that I used (the ones with the zippers). The wife hated it, but they did the job. I only traveled with them about twice a year, otherwise I would have figured out something a little better.

I had easily-removable hard saddlebags on the K1600GTL. Nonetheless, I got their soft-side saddlebag liners to make it even easier to carry stuff into the hotel rooms. I still have them and will see how they fit in the Corbin bags. Assuming those soft-side bags do fit, I expect to have some room left over for things that don't need to come out every night, like the tire repair kit, small compressor, tools, first aid kit, quart of oil, etc... By the way, I think I rode the K1600 once without the saddlebags in nearly 32,000 miles. Same with the saddlebags on my first motorcycle. They came off only for maintenance or to wash the back end of the bike. Those Corbin bags look so natural on the F3, that I don't see me riding without them.

It is hard to see the leg clearance for a passenger's legs to reach the pegs. Wonder if their legs will hit the front of the bag. If so, will the angled edge bother them after awhile?

Just wondering if thought was given that at all... or if they even care.

Default The photos are in and on the Corbin site

The photos of the new bags from Corbin are now listed on the web site, along with the price.
Yep, they are pricy, $1968.00, but they do accent the bike beautifully.
Now the wait starts for the rest of the package, the Smugglers Trunk, I just hope it will fit with the BRP front seat.

Having ridden as a passenger on one of these, I sure would not recommend it....

Ridiculous price. If I get this bike in the future, it will be a cheap pair of throw-overs for me and a tail pack.

[QUOTE=llyrad;993950]Agreed, I went with these for about 130 bucks. They look fine. Would you fit a top box/case if any aftermarket ones come on the market? I have a really nice Hepco & Becker Gobi one on my B-King. I don't suppose H & B will do a rack for the F3, though.

    Default Top Bag

I do a lot of long distance trips, so instead of a top bag I have a 4 man tent that goes across the passenger seat and than I put 1 50 gal waterproof duffel on top of the tent (clothes, etc), and than strap it all down. This allows the waterproof to act like a backrest as well.
