Default Foot Brake Pedal Height Adjustment?

I am wondering if there is an adjustment on the 'at rest' position of the foot brake pedal (right side, not parking brake)? The 2008 GS Sport riding position has my knees bent and my feet are too far behind me to allow me to raise just my toe to step on the brake pedal. The result is I have to raise my leg and foot completely off the peg each time I use the brake. The concern is the few seconds it takes to complete that action. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I may take the foot lever off cut and weld it back where I want it. I can not rest my foot over the brake control with our flashing the brake lights. I want mine lower.
If I can't fix it, I will fix it so no one can fix it. Sypder Loco!

Me too..damn stupid design. The foot shifter needs to be lowered too, I rotated the toe thingy down but still not low enough. Tomorrow I will pull the assembly off with a gear puller and rotate it CW one tooth or maybe 2 or 3, whatever is needed to make this thing enjoyable and safe.

If I do cut the brake pedal I will bolt it back together and make it adjustable rather than weld it.

In my PM I suggested taking off the rubber cover and re-placing it with a piece of sheet metal......that's about a 1/4 inch, if you do this , before you put it on ,what I did was take a nail and put dimples in the metal then turn it over and bolt it on .......this will give you a traction surface and your foot will not slip in the rain......Mike

Could you post a photo of how you changed the brake pedal. Your solution doesn't sound like it would lower the pedal by a noticeable amount?

    thx

Mike's solution is a good one...
Be aware that if you lower the pedal too far; it will affect your ability to push it all the way down for maximum braking effort! It has a lot to do with the articulation of your ankle...
Take small steps, and proceed carefully...

Thanks Bob. If I understand what Mike did I would expect a lowering of no more than 1/4 in. The ICIS brake lever extension would appear to lower it by an inch or so? So I assume there is a fair bit of "safety"'latitude? Maybe it is just the pictures are deceptive and isn't actually dropped much? I just can't understand how this idea makes a noticible change?

    Hi Gcclubs,

Re: The ICIS brake lever extension would appear to lower it by an inch or so?

If you are talking about this item #SPY-FB-BL: http://www.industrialspecialty.com/i...tm#brakelevers

You decide where you want it located. You can drill the locator hole just about anywhere. But, be warned, it is a 'once & done' mistake.

    Mike,
I'm sorry that you two are having trouble, and I do hope that you work it out...

...But I never mentioned you to her, in ANY conversation...
Since you brought this to a public forum; I'll just say to look in the mirror for the source of the problem; it sure wasn't me.

This is how I lowered the height of the brake pedal on my 08 GS...
Requires cutting off the original pedal and replacing it with a piece of 40mm +40mm +3mm angel ... drilling 2+6mm holes into the original brake arm to mount the angle (I drilled a second set of holes for adjustment if needed) .....
I then drilled 2 holes through the other side of the angle to re mount the original brake pedal rubber...
This dropped the pedal height by about 30mm...
