Thats kind of funny if thats the case...
I mean, I'm assuming the brackets were designed in house by BRP....and BRP has the full blown CAD file for the entire Spyder....
and most CAD systems at that level allow for testing of movement and looking for interference.....

How the hell did they miss that?

I still say, use the same mounting system but design bags 3x larger and I'll buy them.... they are half the size of the Givi bags on the RS, and I found those just slightly small. They advertised they could fit a helmet but they would never close around mine.

I know Corbin is coming out with bags, but their other bags aren't removable...

    Default Should be soon...

Dealer said (a few weeks ago) that both the auxiliary lights and the driver's backrest should be in next week.
The saddlebags, however, will be April 24th (the latest update).

    Default Everything on hold?

The parts manager at my dealer told me today that he has been informed that due to shipping/port problems, BRP is now saying that they have no estimate delivery date for any accessories.

    Anybody heard anything like this?

    Default Aftermarket to the Rescue

I think for many the aftermarket alternatives might turn out to be better choices. The saddlebags are a good example. You can get bigger and possibly better ones from aftermarket makers and vendors. Same thing for the windshields. If you're over 5 feet tall you'll need to either modify the BRP windscreen or buy an aftermarket one that's either taller or adjustable. The same could be said of many other items like floorboards or lighting, horns you name it. Sometimes the OEM offerings come up a little short for some of us.

If the size and style of the factory option fits your needs and the price doesn't bother you then the aftermarkets just might not be that much of a "better choice".

If BRP doesn't get their ummmm "act" together and the aftermarket stuff hits the shelves before theirs does they are going to lose a lot of money.

Very glad to hear that...IMO, the driver's backrest is 2nd only to a windshield as an important accessory for the F3. Without the driver's backrest, it is like sitting on a recliner without the back portion...comfortable, but inconvenient, since you have to hold on (especially during acceleration.)*

I hope her backrest is an indicator of more being delivered.

*For those who can't resist pointing out that recliners don't accelerate...well, I'll give you that. I have been describing the F3 seat as being "comfortable as a recliner" and I was just too lazy to think up a better example for this post.

    Default Big News?

The parts manager at my dealer called me today and said that BRP will begin shipping all accessories during the week of April 6-10. He also said that the problem with the saddle bags was that BRP "tweaked" the swing arm just before the final production run and therefore had to fabricate a new mounting bracket for the saddle bags.

Hopefully his information is valid. ..he usually talks to a good BRP source.
