    Default MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE:

I frequently see discussions on when to do various maintenance items. Inside the back cover of the 2015 catalog I received in today's mail is a very complete schedule of all maintenance items for both the 1330 and 991 engines.

    Default 2 interesting things

991 engine? I always hear it referred to as 998 everywhere else
1330 ACE Engine maintenance schedule in the catalog doesn't match my owners manual. In fact they say the break-in period is 300 miles, and my owners manual says 600.

The owners manual also does not call for an oil change until 3400 miles, though my dealership was willing to do it after the 600 mile break-in period.

I think I'll stick to the owner's manual

    Default Nice !!

and very helpful to the newer or low mileage ryder. Many of us have long passed the last scheduled maintenance... works well as a reminder of things to check...thanks for the info...

    990, 991, v990 are all the same 998cc motors.
990 is typically the designation for the first gen cable throttle motors in the 08'-12' GS/RS. 991 is the designation for the first gen 10'-13' RT and second gen 13'+RS/ST with TBW. Aprilia used a few different designations of the same motor and call it a v990. They are all 998cc and most of the parts, while some are different, are mostly interchangeable.....

    MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
Maintenance is very important for keeping your vehicle in safe operating condition.
Proper maintenance is the owner's responsibility. The maintenance schedule
does not exempt the pre-ride inspection.
    WARNING
Failure to properly maintain the vehicle according to the maintenance
schedule and procedures can make it unsafe to operate.
    BREAK-IN INSPECTION - 5 000KM (3,000MI)
Using BRP Utility and Diagnostic Software (B.U.D.S.), check fault codes and install
    required updates.
Replace engine oil and oil filter.
    Etc.

Cool 300 miles or 3000 miles

My Dealer did the same thing, he told me 3000 miles not 300. Seems a bit strange ? OR ?

For a Twin; break-in service comes at 600 miles.
    For a triple; it's at 3,000 miles.
    Easy enough to remember!
