cat delete or not
well thinking of different exhaust on my 13 rs but can,t seem to decide.
should I take off the cat and see what that sounds like and maybe a different
muffler too. or just a muffler. the sound clips on you tube do not sound
all that realistic to me. not looking for more power just a GOOD sound and
not to loud. and I don,t want to get into a fuel issue. so with that
being said what are they doing out there to get this.
benefits of changing the cat are they worth it or not.
what exhaust seems to have the tone.

I pulled that boat anchor of a secondary muffler (cat) off replaced with pit bulls pipe and love the new sound with stock F3 muffler

Sounds....
Not looking for performance I would eliminate the cat a lot of heat and weight. The change in sound is nice and may be enough. If not then the Yoshimura R77 is a nice pipe with a baffle you can add to tone it down...

Reduction of heat under the fuel tank (boiling gas).

I bet if you take off your catalytic converter off ... bring it to a muffler shop.. they could make just a pipe to replace the cat... for a lot less...

Do some homework.
Some states probably have laws requiring the cat converter. It would do you well to check and be sure you won't get gross wise with the law.
Just say'n.
So far, my second childhood is better than my first.

That is a good idea Orange Spyder Man. It never dawned on me to do this. I was going to buy one from Lamont/Len this spring, but with our Canadian dollar being so low. I think I may just try this avenue. Never hurts to try. I have a guy down the street from me that does this.

Although it won't give the "real life/in person" quality. Would you mind throwing up a short video? I'm interested in hearing the difference and don't recall a stock setup minus the cat being posted.

No, you can get it from Lamonster garage or Pitbull Powersports in Springfield Mo.

Good job, it's not a race to get it done, so congrats. I'm sure you will love it once you can get out on it.

When the bloody weather settles and the snow goes away so that I can move my Spyder from the back yard patio to the garage, I'll replace the stock muffler with the Yoshimura R77 that is in a box on the garage floor and install the K&N air filter that is on a shelf in the garage. Would y'all recommend that I disconnect the battery negative while I'm doing the mods so that the computer can update itself straightaway after I push the starter button?

Well now, I got no response to my question from anybody, so I installed the Yosh pipe then started the motor and let it idle for about 15 minutes, then shut it off. waited about 15 minutes, then started it again. Idle is smooth, response is instant. I think it'll be OK. Oil change coming up soon, so the air filter gets changed then.
Also installed a KAOKO throttle lock. Operation is similat ot a throttlemeister, but seems to be easier to operate. I give an update after I've used it for a bit.

I wish either of these fine folks would actually put the cat bypass on their web sites! I admit I hate talking on the phone (and its tough with my work schedule)
Pop on their web site, order, pay, done. Wait for it to show up on my porch!
