    Default F3 Windshield Alternatives

There has been lots of discussion on the need for another windshield option for the F3.

In my postings on my First and Second impressions of the F3 ( see these links ) I felt that for a lot of F3 riders, the windshield would be their big problem.

Also, check out this posting on the height of the BRP Blue Ridge shield. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...e-Ridge-Height

OK, since everyone is up to date now, like John C, I also contacted Madstad to see what they had going. I had put a Madstad Robobracket shield on my GS and really liked it. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/a...hp?albumid=506

They have a F3 prototype done and are working on testing it out. The above linked album shows the new bracket system on the red F3. I have also attached just those pictures to this posting.

Like John C posted, Mark at Madstad, is looking for F3 owners to help out in the testing and refinement of the windshield:
"We just produced this one last week. Front windshield, fully adjustable and worlds better than the factory contraption that jets air right at your face. We had to add side deflectors because that bike shoots a lot of turbulent air at you coming in along the body work. However we did not have much seat time with this first unit as its owner had to go out of town. It is worlds better, but not quite as good as we would want it just yet.
I'm going to see if I can find a local owner to bring his F3 in to our shop so we can finish development. If there is somebody in the central Florida area who would be willing to loan us their F3 for a few days so we can perfect the design, and they would get a huge discount for doing so."

So, if there is anybody that has their F3 around Dade City Flordia and wants to help develop an alternative windshield for the F3, contact Mark Stadnyk, at MadStad Engineering (352)608-4069. http://www.madstad.com

I am sure ( or maybe it is hopeful ) that we will soon get some options for F3 windshields. My past experience with MadStad makes them my prime candidate for a solution. If you know of any other options, please post them below.

    Default Nice Work

I'm glad they're working on an adjustable windshield & bracket as a system together. Hopefully they will get the lexan windscreen portion shaped to minimize that turbulence coming around the body panels, maybe wider at the bottom or just wider period, who knows? It sounds like they want to develop the most effective and turbulence-free design as is possible. Hopefully an owner down there in Florida will step up to the plate so-to-speak.
