Price is a big problem with conversions. When you get to the market where there are very few of a type to start with (here), they are even more pricey.
Beautiful looking. This iteration has been around and has been for sale in Europe. I believe they were trying to get them going here in the US. Last I heard, there were mechanical issues, and the dealers did not feel they were ready for the public yet.
It is true that if Honda actually started building this type of a vehicle, as a stock item, and with a full factory warranty--they would sell a lot of them. IMO of course. Who would not want that 6 cylinder 1800 cc engine? A $3K - $5K or so premium on the price over the Goldwing?
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

Nice !!
problem for me (maybe because you recognize the motorcycle) is all the conversions look like a motorcycle pushing an automotive front end. Skinny motorcycle rear tire etc. They are not cost effective by any means and lack the safety features on spyders. Jmo still beauty is in the eye of the beholder..

It's my understanding when Honda, and others, settled the class action lawsuit years ago over the three wheel ATVs that Honda, and maybe Kawasaki and Suzuki, agreed to never again build a three wheel vehicle. Polaris and Can Am weren't part of the class action and thus are not constrained from building 3 wheelers.
2014 Copper RTS

Honda has recently filed for a patent for a 3 wheeler with 2 wheels in the front. It's supposed to lean like a 2 wheeler as well. As for this R18 Reverse Trike, it is pricy but I have yet to see one on a twisty road. Don't think it will have any heat issues as the wing's engine is bullet proof. It also just looks to bulky.

That lawsuit dealt with off-road vehicles; specifically ATCs...
If it was REALLY in the way; it'd be pretty easy for Honda's legal Department to kick it to the side...

I have ridden one for a few miles, but not enough to give any kind of meaningful assessment as to the handling vs. the spyder.
The torque and pull reminds me of the F3 now that I have ridden those.
There is no doubt you're sitting on a substantial piece of machinery.
