I carry a Ruger LCP 380 in a nice little pocket holster which I keep in my right jeans pocket. The handle sticks out of my pocket a little, but I leave my tee shirt untucked and it covers it. It's a small weapon, but I keep it loaded with critical defense rounds. On those rare occasions when I have to go into a place with one of those "No Weapons Allowed" signs, I just lock it in my trunk.
Do not carrie any pistol till you have spent a lot of time at the range. Get completely familuar with the safty cocking and shooting. If you have never target practiced with a pistol you are in for a shock. I care a sig p938 9mm all the time in front pocket. It is the smallest 9mm if you practice you can get very good to 10 or 12 yards. And farther you needa 3 to 4 inch barrel dending on individuals capability.

You carry it on your person. A gun is of absolutely no value or use when you have it in the trunk, in a bag (no matter how close that bag may be to you). The only logical place to carry it is in a holster on your person. If a situation has escalated to the point where you need to defend yourself, you don't want to be fumbling around trying to open some stupid bag. A semi-automatic has the advantage of holding more rounds in the magazine. Notice I didn't say bullets or clip. If you're going to carry a firearm, make yourself familiar with the correct terminology. A revolver, while not holding as many rounds as a semi-auto, is almost jam proof.

I will say this: I try to avoid areas where trouble can occur, but that is not always possible. I have been trying to come up with some "goodies".
I have two items of interest for personal protection in the works. One is a means to carry concealed and have access right at hand and the other is a non lethal force option. I'll post more when we get things ready! I am especially excited about the non-lethal option.
I too now carry non-lethal along with a gun. A flashlight that is a stun gun too and pepper spray, that shoots a stream 15-20 feet. Even if you are totally in the right too many anti-gun people on the juries. I will use the option if I feel they will work enough to stop the problem.

Laser sighted S&W 38 with the "right " ammo in a Crossbreed mini-tuck. comfortable, does not print with the Crimson trace small grip. I like a wheel gun--- no jam---- ever, no safety ( on or off???) Hard to beat the S&W single action trigger.
Shoot lots of different weapons untill you find one you really like. Get training!!

I carry a hammerless Ruger SP 101 2", .357 in a IWB Crossbred holster or in the conceal carry pocket of my Xelement leather jacket when on the Spyder. My wife carries a LadySmith .38. I carry everywhere. The so called 'gun free' zones can ask us to leave if they notice that we're carrying which we don't advertise. Its not against the law to carry in most 'gun free' zones, and the ones that it is, i.e. courthouses etc, will have a check point set up where you can leave your weapon as you enter. In that case, we leave them in the vehicle.

I load those Critical Defense rounds in the Ruger 380 that I carry. I've seen demos of what they can do. Would not want to be on the receiving end.....
Like most gun owners I've got a tote full of holsters that were "the solution". I keep falling back to a simple inexpensive Kydex holster, I carry my 1911 Colt Defender in one, my Sig P238, or my J frame S&W. The are light weight, easy to draw from and I usually wear a vest to cover them or a shirt over a t-shirt. My Keltec 380 rides in my front pocket or a Sneaky Pete style holster. Take a class, it'll scare the hell out of you when you learn of the consequences of pulling your weapon even if you're justified. SD has open carry, but I'm not comfortable advertising "Shoot me first".
I bought the Curve in early May and have carried it since. I have the one with the laser and flashlight, love it, it shoots well and the laser was accurate "out of the box".
Carried it on a 2,000 mile trip to Spyder Fest and back, and a 1,000 mile trip to PA. This is a very comfortable CC piece.

Ruger LCP 380, North American Arms Sidewinder .22 magnum, S&W 38 revolver. My current favorite is the .22 mag because it's so small. I figure I'd probably only use it when the threat is really close and it would be useful there. I have several carry options depending on what I'm going to wear.

The Missus has a pair of them. They even have reinforced carrying straps that won't get busted, if some mutt tries to pull the bag out of your hands.

There are several carry purses out there. My Sidewinder fits in an eye-glasses case in my purse! I have a carry purse, too, but, if possible, I prefer to carry on my person.
