    Default I wonder if...

The Spyder will ever evolve into this configuration. It would certainly add complexity and cost but the cool factor is definitely there. Thoughts?

I don't see any 'cool factor' there. YUK.

I agree that there is not "cool factor" involved in one of these, but I would like to have one to tool around the neighborhood.

I have many photos of this type of scooter that have been on display and or for sale
at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. They started showing up about 2004

The "you get what you pay for" rule would seem to apply here. A nice entry level machine since $5K will not get you into much of a real motorcycle these days.

These machines do not have a really good rep when it comes to mechanicals. Not sure how parts availability would be either.

A nice niche market. When I was in Hawaii, there were lots of mini scooters around. Seemed to work well there. Life is slower and more laid back. Honolulu, freeways excepted of course. Would not use such a machine for freeway or highway use here either.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

I think he means because it's a leaner. It might be cool to have a leaning Spyder.

My info is that the 4 wheeler from China are junk and no parts and no one will work on them, even the guy that sells them. I wouldn't care if it was free.

We saw a couple on one of those and passed the dealership when we were in Honolulu for our 50th anniversary back in September. It has novelty appeal and other than on the interstate highways (an oxymoron for HI) it may be most suitable for island speed and time.

well there is probably a market for it, there is a small market for some of everything...not my cup of tea though, but a lot of things that I am not into are selling just fine without my financial backing, lol.

    Default Not cool

Many of us have spent great amounts of time and money removing any hint of "lean" . If you want "lean" , definitely buy a scooter that leans, not a Can-Am. Harley-Davidson tried this and the prototypes are in their museum, not on the road.

Default For the love of Pete!

I guess I should have put my flame suit on. I was only talking about the front suspension.

No, I wouldn't ride a scooter either, or anything made in China!

    Tough crowd today.

    . . . I guess I'll join in - just a little.

I never seen the cool or practicality of leaning wheels. If they were so advantageous, you would be seeing them on cars.

I would guess a mechanical engineer got off his leash.

    tom
    2008 GS SE5 -> 2013 STS SE5 -> 2015 F3-S SE6 . . . Still riding & smiling.
