Default Any one find good quality LED bulbs to work in the RT Headlights

It appears that there are LED bulbs that work in projector style headlights on the market now, any one try any yet?

We have been very busy working on other people's Spyders and mine has been left unrepaired. I'm hoping that next week my Spyder will get a turn and I'll get the LEDs installed.

KBCarStuff.com is a vendor on this site. I had their LED's on my 2010 RT and have them on my 2014 RTS. Ignore the pun but he difference is night and day.

The bulbs I ordered were : 9005 / HB3 4300k Xtreme Xenon HID . The wiring harness that comes with DOES NOT have to be installed when using these on a Spyder.

The stock lights are more of a yellow color, theses are a bright white and cover a larger arc of light. Since the Spyder uses a lens to go from normal to bright light the only effect is the light shines higher, same as the stock lights.

All I can say about the experience is that if I didn't have them I would avoid riding at night. We have deer in the area and riding the country wooded roads at night would simply be to dangerous. The LED's make a enormous difference.

HID and LED are vastly different bulbs. Check wiredux, supporting vendor, he has LED headlight bulbs available.

Well I tried the 80 watt LEDs and no go, they put out less light than the stock bulbs, nice and white but not as bright. Also, they are too long for the dust cover on the back of the headlight assembly. If you leave it off or cut the cover the fan in the LED would push dust into the headlight area.

But.. I tried rewiring my HID's and fixed the problem, no more strobing and going out. I had run them for 6 months via my fuse panel that is powered off of a accessory line with no problems but a few weeks back they started acting up. Today I ran the power to the HID relay directly from the battery and it fixed the problem. My hunch is that I was drawing too much power over all.

    Default H11 HID BULB ?

For halogen the H-1 and 9005 are different because one is more wattage than the other
I put H-11 Hid bulbs in my 2014 RT limited
The LED bulb itself is cooler [temperature] than other bulbs but it has a heat sink in back of it that gets very hot
Since the bulb in the Spyder is enclosed in a housing I did not know what that heat would do
    Don
I just went KB Car Stuff and looked your H11 HID Bulbs that you put in your spyder.
    The ones I found http://www.xenondepot.com/H11-HID-Ki.../xt-h11-rb.htm

So I am a bit confused because the only bulb that I could find is a replacement for the bulb used in their HID KIT not just for replacing spyder halogen headlight bulbs. I would need the HID Kit to be able to use this bulb
Can you please post some more info on the bulb you used and include a link too please thanks.. Mark

The 9005 and the H-11 use the same housing but the HID bulbs need the kit to start with
    Hope that makes sense

FWIW, the general consensus in truck / automotive forums is that the current aftermarket LED headlight bulbs are not powerful enough to serve as a vision upgrade. Many look good for show. LED technology is still not at the limit yet.

Then the manual is wrong. Not the first time. Could be a carryover from the old GS lamps.

Will these fit inside the dust cover on the back of the headlight assembly? They about the same lenght as the ones I bought which will not work.

I understand that the new H-D Road Glide uses led headlamps, maybe a trip to the local dealer would give an idea of what they're using.
