    Default "14 RT Ltd

Last week my wife and I put a down payment on a white Spyder Limited. We ordered a heated seat, driver's back rest, front skid plate, trailer hitch and matching trailer. Those are all the accessories I can afford to start with.
I do want to get the additional trunk brake light and need to upgrade the helmets to Blue Tooth. Any good info on the best Blue Tooth system would be appreciated.
This was a "demo" model with almost 7,000 miles on the odometer. Looks brand new, no marks on it at all, just a little tire wear. I saved about a '"nickle 98". 😁
The bad thing is I had shoulder surgery just before Christmas, the 23rd of December, and won't be able to ride for several months. I'll have to trailer it home and have some one put it in the garage for me! 😥

Contact Motorcycle Dave, sponsor here. He can answer all your questions about Sena products and has very good prices. FWIW, I'm very satisfied with my Sena SM10 and SMH10.

I agree with JayBros, contact Motorcycle Dave or Sena directly and explain what exactly you need. The wife and I love our Sena SM10 setup. We use all the features (iPod, Radio, 2 way, and calling).
Have fun with your new .

With 7000 miles on the bike, I'd have the dealer install a new rear tire. Otherwise I'm afraid that you won't be too happy when you have to fork over $300 dollars for a new tire after a few miles.

on your new . You may also want to look into the Tri Axis Adjustable Handlebars once you have recovered and are able to put some miles on it . Tailoring the height and width of the hand grips may keep additional strain off your shoulders.

Congratulations on your new Spyder. I agree that you should get them to install a new rear tire as 7000 miles on a 14 tire is about all you will get. Also, the Tri Axis handlebars would be something that I would highly suggest for someone with shoulder issues.

    and on your new ride.

Ditto, on the Sena Headsets. We have them and consider them the best of the best.

Ditto, on the rear tire. I was lucky to get 8,900 miles on my rear tire. I was high mileage compared to some. At about $300 for a new one (installed), have the dealer put a new one on now (his dime). BRP has changed the rubber compound and you should experience 13K to 15K on the new tire.

    Default A Late Aside

Since you're recovering from surgery, get well pronto! Not being able to ride will allow you the opportunity to memorize your Operator's Guide. There is a wealth of information in that book. Read here too on SL the steps to set your radio stations if you're so inclined. That's one of the few shortcomings of the guide.

Thanks to all for the advice on the rear tire and the bluetooth. As for the adjustable bars, I will wait and see how things go. When we test rode this one it felt better on my shoulders and wrists than my Wing does. Soooo, we will see.
I am also looking at how/where to install hook ups for our Gerbings for both my wife and I. Searching the "how to" site has not really been very informative. All the discussion is about what type of heated gear to buy, nothing I could find on installation of wiring. Anybody have any info on that?
