Storage compartment like RT on RS
Anyone thought of putting a compartment on their RS like the one of the RT just forward of the seat? Seems like a nice mod for us RS riders.

Well..!!
if your talking about the glovebox type...no room...but there are items out there like around the windshield etc. Tank bags work well and you can remove them when not needed. Trunks and side bags are also out there...

yeah, you would probably have to fabricate something to go on top of the area in front of the seat then have it color matched...but definitely an ideal worth looking into.

Nope, it doesn't fit any RT. The OP has a RS.

Check the fitment info on the Nelson Rigg website. I just bought a seat bag that Amazon said would not fit but the NR site said it would. Needless to say, it fits fine.

I use this: http://www.amazon.com/Nelson-Rigg-CA...Canam+tank+bag
It holds quite a lot. I carry knife, wet gear( wet pants for my wife & I), maps, gloves, hand cleaner, windshield cleaner & rags, and compass. It has a map window on the top and it keeps everything dry in the rain.

I am sure the tank bag will work just fine, but it would be nice to see something custom fitted to your Spyder. I love to see the work done by those of you who have the money and time to think "outside the box". Good luck!

If somebody could cut-out the OEM bodywork, and add enough flanges and hardware to the Tupperware; couldn't a useable space be created within the existing bodywork?
see post 6

If they made one that looked more OEM for an RT it would look much better. This is a little big and just doesn't look good, my opinion however this is not that far off. A mod one could have key lock instead of lovking like RT.

I use a Givi tank bag model EA102. Has straps that I run under the plastic 'spine' panel and it works well. Is expandable and has a map pocket. The pictures on the Givi site show it expanded so it's normally not as high as that. Comes with a rain cover.

I tried a few on my Spyder but went for this one as the map pocket was in a good position. The tank bag is mounted close to you on the Spyder so you tend to look down to see the map pocket, many of the other tank bags were sloped towards the rider which didn't work with the RS's sitting position.
