PLEASE KEEP MY WIFE IN YOUR THOUGHTS TODAY
I am asking all of our fellow SpyderLovers to keep my wife, Valerie in your thoughts today. She is having emergency surgery to remove her gall bladder, which has several large stones. She is so upset, as we were supposed to fly down to Austin TX to visit our son and his fiance over Thanksgiving. Needless to say, that is not going to happen. So if you would, please send her some positive energy for a good outcome and a speedy recovery. Thanks to you all.

I spent last Thanksgiving in the hospital in Tucson, AZ for a highly inflamed gallbladder with gall stones (removed it). We had gone to spend Thanksgiving with our son and daughter. I was to be his first with us after 13 years of Army service. Things happen for a reason that is not always known. Tell her to keep her spirits up. After all, it is better to be near home to take care of this. If it's laparoscopic it's a breeze. For me, it is so nice to be able to eat anything I want without wondering if the gallbladder will react with another super painful attack. She is in our thoughts.

Prayers . . . and some advice from someone who's been there . . . laparoscopic removal is the way to go . . . much less invasive and quicker healing, provided the doc has done it, many times. A doc who nicks the common bile duct is causing more problems, down the road.
Get her a throw pillow to hold push into her navel when she has to cough . . . it keeps the staples from pulling and hurting.
Also, a nurse recommended to me that I mix a 50/50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water, lay on my back and pour a cap full into my navel every day . . . this helps keep the incision from getting infected . . . have her ask her doc about that. We had a neighbor who had the same surgery as mine . . . mine healed with no issue and hers got badly infected . . . she didn't do the hydrogen peroxide thing . . .
I truly hope she goes through this as easily as I did.
