Default What's your opinion on the nwe Spyder design and riding position?

Went to the Texas Long Horn rally and had the chance to sit on one, i guess i'm used to the standard riding position because i did not like the crusier like posture, also my wife said that the front looks like a lawn mower

to be honest i like the look of the seating position. i would do the tri axis handlebars on my rt if they weren't so expensive and so hard to install just to sit upright more

I like the looks (mean & fast). Also find that the more I look at it, I like the difference between the F3 and other models. Instead of snowmobile, it does indeed look a bit lawnmowerish--but in a nice way.

You are not alone with the lawn mower comment. There have even been suggestions to paint it in John Deere Green/Yellow.

As far as seating position, I cannot comment because I have not had the opportunity to test sit or test drive. They won't be up here until next April or so.

I am now a dyed in the wool RT person--but 4 years ago or so, I would have jumped on the F3 with no questions asked.

To ride one will change your mind....the throttle is quick....really feels secure seating in the seat...Mark road one and he went down to Lone Star to find fault in the F3....he loves it.....but with all the problems we had with my 2013 ST...we will not be purchasing a F3 for a while....they, F3 have to prove themselves

I used to ride a M109. To me, the riding position is very similar. It is good for cruising, but for long, over the road touring, the standard RT seating position worked better for me. With the cruising position, my movement and body repositioning was limited. As for the looks, I just do not like it. But, that is the reason for different bikes, we have different likes, so we need different choices. I am also not a fan of the exposed frame.

I like/prefer the forward control position. The F3 is comfortable, but looks like _____ because the rider sits too far back, and it has insufficient storage - even with the BRP bags. You buy a bike because it moves your soul - the F3 doesn't come close for me. But if it works for you, go enjoy it.

I plan to ride one this weekend. I'm not a fan of forward controls myself but maybe I'll change my mind.

I find the F3 riding position more comfortable than the RT riding position. But then I'm used to cruisers more so than Gold Wings. However, I'm keeping my RT.

10 years ago I would have jump all over the F3. I am on my 2nd RT ( a '14 RTS) and the 1330 is a great step up for the Spyder. I loved my '10 model and the 998 engine was strong but that engine was more suited for the RS. With the new gearing (larger sprocket on the back) I am sure the F3 will be HOT. Good luck and hope you get yours soon. As a Harley rider going to the F3 I am very interested in your assessment of it.

I have just recently traded up from my 2010 RTS SM to the '14 RTS SE,,,Being 5'7" I don't need a lot of room to stretch out. with the floor boards on the SE I have found that I have good room to move my feet to the front of the boards for a comfortable position when needed. I will not need highway pegs as I had on the SM. Also with my feet forward on the boards I can use that area for leverage when cornering. With this in mind I know with the feet forward position on the F3 it would be a totally different feel and riding style especially in the twisties using your legs and feet instead of upper body and shoulders. I am still an RT kinda guy but I do think the F3 is going to shake up the 3 wheel market and pull a lot of cruiser riders over.

Have not had a chance to sit on one yet but want one very bad. I have always loved the sitting position on my Harley. Thinking I might like this. Will keep our 2012 rt limited and get the F3 for myself to have fun with (when the wife will let me). Probably will sell the Harley to help get the F3 but had to part with it. Going to Daytona in march to see the 2015 lineup and see what Lamonster's F3 will look like. Hope to see lots of you guys and girls down there.

Looking at this picture, the foot pegs look to be on settings three or four. If they were moved back to one or two then I think you'd be comfy.
There are also four different reach distances for the handlebars. You do look overstretched in photo.
    Here's how they adjust:

I am not a fan of the cruiser seating position. I like the looks of the ride though. Just would never be for me with cruiser seating.
