    Default Winter and PMS....

Here we go...got our first snow storm. Friends to the north received about 12 inches so far. We live in the Twin Cities and received just a few inches here so far. When it's all done (as we're getting some more tonight), we'll probably have around 4-8 inches here on the ground. A little icy today as well. We are the lucky ones as some people are getting 12+ inches!

Also, we are in another "arctic vortex" - ugh! They are forecasting the next 2 weeks below the freezing mark. About 10-15 degrees below normal....hope this "trend" does NOT continue! We had a long, snowy winter last year....don't need another one!

Anyways....winter in Minnesnowta always brings PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome):

We got a reprieve of sorts. Rode 100 miles today. Temps 39 - 51 depending on whether I was in shade or sun. We are supposed to have a whole week of this weather. Going to take advantage while I can.

    Hi Les,

Yes, I "drove" my 1983 (that's right, bought it new in 1983!) Honda HS50 snowblower....she's a real "keeper". It runs great and starts on the first pull - very reliable.

I have to confess, I do clean it well after each season (and wax it ) along with normal maintenance to keep 'er running!

Good luck to all who live in the "snow belt" ! Winter is starting snowy and VERY cold!

Once they put the chemicals and salt on the roads, the Spyder stays in hibernation until spring when the rains wash this junk off the roads!

Hundreds of accidents, including roll overs, skids into ditches, and even one fatality. Happens every year with the first snowfall. When I wore the badge, I called in sick on first snow day. We were scheduled to take a 3 day trip up the north shore of Superior yesterday morning but canceled due to the hysteria on the media about another storm of the century. I should have know better but wife insisted we stay home. We ended up with about a foot of heavy wet snow.

    Enjoy your winter!

There are so many areas in Florida to like. It all depends what you are looking for. I personally prefer the coastal areas. The east coast is more active than the west coast. The west coast is more laid back. The further north you are in the state the cooler it is in the winter. You can actually get a feel for a change of seasons in northern parts of Florida. Orlando south is warmer in the winter months and less likely to have frost. I suggest you take some time and explore the state to see which areas you like. We have lived in Florida for over 20 years and have lived on both coasts. We are now settled in SW Florida and call it home.

West Coast is more laid back...and I thought it was an age thing.

As mentioned, Florida is diverse in choices of where to live.

Moved here in 83, have not seen snow on my driveway ever.

Seriously though it is a tradeoff. I'm not sure how but someone will explain it to me.

Sorry to hear about your cold weather and snow.
