what tire for the rear wheel

If a 215 X60X R 15 will fit could a 225 X 60X R15 fit as well?? Are there any other sizes out there that would fit? I know the Kumho is used by some, where can one be found?? my new RT just has 1500 miles on it, but I suspect it wont be long before I will need a new rear tire, its so hard to keep from twisting that right hand!!

The 225/60R15 might be a little too 'tall' for the Nanny. I do recall my dealer had a Spyder that kept throwing codes & they couldn't figure it out. They finally called BRP Tech Support and was asked to check the rear tire. The owner had put a new one on that was a different size (don't know what size it was) & that was the cause of the problems.

I know the 215/60R15 works and also makes the speedometer much more accurate, according to my GPS. Never more than 1 mph difference and often shows the same speed. I use Michelin tires on both the front and rear.

You've got to stay reasonably close to the overall dimensions of the oem tire. If you don't; Nanny will interpret the difference in rotational rates, as something being incredibly wrong.

I am using a 215/60/15 Michelin Primacy on the rear for over 5,000 miles with no problems. Fronts are now 185/65/14 General Altimax HP. The fronts fit with no mods. They were installed by Netzey's.

The rear is a 215/60r15 Michelin HydroEdge, which is discontinued and replaced with the Michelin Defender. Fronts are 175/65R14 (they are one size wider than OEM - that's the only difference) Michelin Defender.

If I recall correctly, on my RT itwas as much as 3-4 mph, depending on speed. If you have a spot where they have radar measuring speed and flashing it on a sign, you could get a feel for speedo error there.

My HONDA ST1300 and my ST1100 were both at 7% optimistic from 5mph to 140mph? indicated. I simply deducted 5mph from the indicated and figgered I was in a safe range.
