Well that is technically effecting performance and fuel mixture.

New here, and to Spyders, so maybe y'all will let me slide with a dumb question or two ...
As to fitment, is there any physical difference in the RS and RS-S ? I'm really interested in doing this mod on my 2012 RS-S, and combing it with Lamont's Cat by-pass and a Power Commander, or a TB fuel unit. But fitment of JT's air cleaner kit is paramount to the entire "package." Any help, comments, or advice will be appreciated.

No difference in fit. Same engine in RS and RS-S.

All in all I'm happy with my new JT filter. The Tupperware is WAY cooler than with the stock filter/box. The area near my foot on the left side gets only warm now not hot.
As far as sound, I like the new lower rumbling revving tone. I do however have a slight whistling/squealing like sound, kind of like a squeaky fan belt in a car. It's not loud and it's not there every time, just there in first gear mostly while accelerating from a stop. I'm not sure it has anything to do with the filter. It just as likely that it was there all along and maybe the airbox/fliter that was taken out, helped muffle it. I did take a look at the filter and hose to make sure everything was tight with no air leaks, and it all appears to be fine. I'm open to thoughts......

A whistle is usually an air leak of some sort somewhere.

I wonder if the filter parts were siliconed good and have a tight fit.

Maybe a vacuum line got a tiny cut when removing the intake parts.

Just throwing out suggestions, these things are hard to find sometimes.

    Thanks, all good points.
Beside the main body panel that allows access does the panel right above next to the dash need to be removed also to get the best access to the filter and adapter?

Sounds like you have an RT, I have an ST, no glove box. The panel I'm talking about, the mirror sits over it. Does the mirror screw off or just pull off? Seems like I saw someone just pull the mirror off in video once.

Looking at the parts breakdown on a ST the mirrors look just like the RT and are held on with two spring clips and a keyslot. To remove you press down on the top inner edge while pushing up the bottom outer edge, then when the two spring clips are off you lift up a bit to release the keyslot.

After taking another look at the mirror and panel I mentioned, the panel is actually cut out where the mirror sits. So the mirror might not have to come off.
Although if it does need to come off, I didn't see the 2 spring clips you mentioned. Do I have to disassemble the mirror somewhat to see them?

    Default Mirror

The mirror pops off just like JT said on my RT. If its the same on yours it should be the same. Somewhere around here I have seen a video on how to do it.
    Have fun....

    Default Mirror

I have an ST. The panel that the mirror attaches to won't come off until the mirror is removed. Each mirror has a black plastic piece covering it on top and bottom. The bottom piece pops off but the top piece has a screw in it that must be removed. Once the two pieces are off, the mirrors can be popped off. Pull up and out from the bottom of the mirror and then lift up. Mirror should come off. Unplug the cord to the turn signal and remove. Then you have to unscrew 4 screws holding the plastic piece the mirror fits into and remove. Then you can remove the panel. Hope this helps.

Just looking at a photo of an ST and the mirrors are different than the RT.

These are the RT mirror so what I said won't apply to the ST.

Thanks all! Your input helped. I pulled the mirror and panels and I got to the filter and checked everything and found nothing that was an obvious air leak. I tightened a couple screws on the throttle body adapter a little just because I could. I don't think that had anything to do with it. All hoses looked good, clamps were tight. Put it back together and took it for a spin.
The high pitch whining/whistling sound is still there a little but only while accelerating out of first gear. On the open road I didn't hear anything. I think I can live it!
    thanks

Thanks for the invite! I'm afraid though that once I got down there you would listen and say, "I don't hear a thing", and then my OCD would be revealed. I'm trying to keep that a secret.
