    Default Smoothspyder review

I bought a Smoothspyder belt tensioner about 3 months ago and it helped a lot. I had a lot of vibration between 70-75mph, which is a pretty common highway speed here. I installed the Smoothspyder it definitely eliminated the vibration. A couple of caveats though. It was not easy to install because of the drilling required and the tensioner started loosing up after about 600 miles causing the vibration to return. I've since reset the tension and it hasn't given me any more issues in 1100 miles. I hope this helps.

I'm pretty sure that the 2014 RT DOESN'T require any holes to be drilled...It uses a existing single hole with a supplied bolt and nut from Jim???

I talked with Jim at Smooth Spyder about a week ago...I'm going to order one after my 3000 miles service this Tues. (9/30)...So sometime in the next two weeks I'll know for sure...

My dealer installed one for me on my 2013 RT L & it has made a huge difference in calming the vibration. I would recommend that you go for it. I'm glad that I did.

I have a 2012 rt-s sm5. I put the smoothspyder tensioner on, about a year ago. Around 65 to 75 going up hill it will make a noise. Do you think it could be to loose or to tight didn't want to put to much pressure the bearings. Have it set about half the scale that Jim marked on it.
    Thanks as always
