Ford, gets it.
If they are to be sold and/or used in the desert. Test them there!

Identify what you have control over and find peace with what you don't.

Would we like to compare how many GM products right now are burning to the ground...on the road!
And and remember we have had news of 2-3 Spyders burning to the ground also. :look:

At least they were testing it where it mattered. More than can be said for most.

There are few vehicle models that haven't experienced a thermal event at one time or another. That pace car fire was caused by an added power system for the caution lights and radio.

Have to agree..!!
with those stating this is a test vehicle and being put through its paces. You have no idea how those test cars have failed to finally get to the public with a safe vehicle..and even then there are problems...

I will not own Asian cars or bikes. Period. Its simply not and never has been a level playing field and we continue to allow it to happen. I mostly cannot afford European models for daily transport. At least not the interesting models.
It may be your job next. I don't even work in the automotive industry, but its one of the few where american products are among the best the world has to offer and we need to support that. I work in one of the few others where American design still means something. Its no small feat and worth supporting. There is not much left.

Someone said pretty much what you said a few years back on spyderlovers. When I asked what he meant, I never got a direct answer. I'm guessing here, but Japan for example, do they impose a high tax on U.S. cars entering their country? Is this what you mean when referring to level playing field?
